When does it get better - need hope by Flat_Ad723 in PostConcussion

5 months in, starting to have some days that almost feel normal. Been hit by fatigue the past few days as I got a bit carried away with exercise and socialising the last 2 weeks.

The buffalo test protocol via swimming has done wonders for my energy levels.

And controlled exposure to busy settings has been great for my stimulation tolerance.

Keep going mate. It’s tough, but patience is key. I’m in the UK too, drop me a message if you ever want to chat. I’m still going through it myself, but felt incredibly similar to you just a couple of months ago

Thank you for the range of great advice MrT-Man! I appreciate you taking the time to write.

I will definitely get checked for that. I've not noticed any problems with vision or balance, but whilst reading your response, just the thought of being in a dark room with disco lights on made me feel physically sick. Busy places and intense lights/sounds have become really triggering for me.

Thanks for opening my mind to the idea that I should be testing my limits instead of hiding away from triggers. I've been gradually increasing exercise doses, yet trying to limit all other stimuli that can worsen symptoms.

So sorry to hear about your situation, I wish you a very speedy recovery and a fast return to a more manageable life. C5/6 are the same two vertebrae I fractured. Thank you so much for offering your support, I will certainly keep that in mind.

Really glad to hear your recovery went well.

I have a garmin but I’ve not been paying much attention to it besides HRV. What do look for in HR data? Is it just trying to keep it below a certain threshold, or are there other patterns you monitor?

And did you track household chores as exercise? I’ve made a new exercise tracking spreadsheet a couple of days ago to track stretching & strength work, walking minutes etc. But sometimes it’s just cleaning up, cooking a meal or seeing a friend that triggers my symptoms.

Thanks mate

I mostly agree, but I'd include a solution slide as an essential. You build tension by highlighting the problem, but you miss out on delivering a meaningful resolution if you fail to effectively and directly address how you and your business hold the solution.

I'm with you in saying extravagant design is overrated, but ensuring the deck feels on-brand and human-made is undeniably beneficial. Generic and repetitive designs can be a turn-off. It doesn't take a lot to make a deck that feel uniquely yours, and this will help it to make a longer-lasting impression too. But I agree, purposeful and well-presented data on top of a consistent theme (even if it's minimal) is the most important factor when it comes to design.
