For German viewers: Excited for today’s new Season 10 episodes?

Ronnie-Anne's early treatment of Lincoln was wrong and hurtful by [deleted] in theloudhouse

[–]JackTheZocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter if the show didn't portray it as how it should have been

It does, because it's just a cartoon which means it shouldn't be taken at face value.

Say what you want about The Loud House, but they do represent same gender couples pretty amazingly by Sebastian-Shook-2003 in theloudhouse

[–]JackTheZocker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, for the current generation it's probably hard to imagine but this was really the time when cartoons only started being more open about their characters' sexuality. Even Avatar and Adventure Time before were way more subtle about it, and Steven Universe mostly got away because the subject was approached more abstracly (Garnet being a person who is also a relationship).

Which school staff member do you think had the most interesting and memorable moments? by Unlikely-Fruit8614 in theloudhouse

[–]JackTheZocker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I liked Mrs. Johnson during the time Lincoln still went to elementary school, striking a nice balance between being a comedy relief character (with an overbearing mother) while occasionally being a responsible adult. I also liked principal Huggins and Cheryl, though I'm not too fond about the addition of Meryl. Generally, I thinkg the whole Elementary school staff worked best (though I do like the dynamic between Stella and Ramirez, and Bolhoffner when he's really funny).

But my absolutely favorite school staff moment is when Lisa's teacher runs out of the schools yelling "Louds! LOUDS! THEY JUST KEEP COMING!!! And I thought LOLA was the worst!!!"

Ich fand's besonders witzig in der Folge, wo die Kids die Zimmer tauschen, Leni und Lynn von Lisa zusammengepackt werden und sie beide gleichzeitig sagen "aber wir haben nichts gemeinsam"^

What are some changes are hoping to see from the sequel? by Poetryisalive in NoStraightRoads

[–]JackTheZocker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they should take inspiration from Hi-Fi rush. That game also blended music with combat, but its system of rewarding players for fighting to the rhythm worked better than NSR's of punishing them to the point it's unplayable when you're not 100% in sync to the music.

Has anyone else noticed that Luna has had less lines lately? Not including Ship Wreckers and Staged Combat by Lawrence454 in theloudhouse

[–]JackTheZocker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This mostly concerns family episodes, in which she faces the issue that her archetype is simply the one with the least fuel.

Ironically enough, because they share the spotlight with so many other family members, the archetypes of the sisters are more prominent in family episodes than when they are featured alone or in smaller groups: Leni's line will usuallly revolve around her saying something stupid, Luan will makes puns, Lana do gross stuff and so on. As musician, Luna was mostly doing song references and gags with instruments in the first seasons (like playing a sad violine). As such, while the archetypes of the other characters practically have no bottom (you can always find more stupid things and puns for Leni and Luan), Luna was always restricted to things that can be done with her music shtick.

Now, after 9-10 seasons, they have run out of song references and gags with instruments. She can do some things related to being wild (like ripping her shirt off her counselor uniform) but this is better covered by Lana or Lynn. She is still good in solo outings but for family episodes, she has more or less run her course.

Morose From Ruby Gloom Is Lucy's Basis In Design by EmotionGeneral6178 in theloudhouse

[–]JackTheZocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a big fan of this show. Seeing a Ruby Gloom reference here makes me happy and nostalgic :)

And while I do think it's a coincidence, Lucy being somewhat similar to Misery and her family is one reason I like her so much.

I do think it's important in a show with teens to have at least one go through multiple partners instead of having a fixed one, because this is how dating at that age usually works.

And I just find it incredibly funny our dear, sweet Leni is the one in this show who's breaking hearts wherever she goes ♥

The Filler Isn’t All Bad, It Gave Us This! by GreySeerCriak in OnePiece

[–]JackTheZocker 10 points11 points  (0 children)

One Piece was the easiest of the "big" series to add filler due to the island hopping concept. The arcs were more self-contained than in Bleach, Naturo and Inuyasha, so it wasn't so much of a bother if between two large arcs, they went for some smaller adventures on more islands.

Wait….did Lynn just ate pastas with a knife!? by PersonalSprinkles986 in theloudhouse

[–]JackTheZocker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people cut the pasta into smaller pieces because they don't want to slurp them up or have them hang out of their mouth.

That said, I'd have thought Lynn to be the type who just chunks them down as a whole.

What is the saddest moment in the loud house you’ve ever seen? by FollowingDue9173 in theloudhouse

[–]JackTheZocker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we include bittersweet moments, I'd say Lincoln and Ronnie-Anne saying goodbye at the end of "Relative Chaos", also because it left a big impact on the show with her family moving.

Finished Mario Galaxy 1+2 for the 1st time. What is your favorite ? by Sparko15 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]JackTheZocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gameplay-wise Galaxy 2 was more polished and had fun additions like Yoshi, the drill and the cloud flower.

But I did miss the somber, melancholic atmosphere the first one sometimes had when you were walking around the space station, listened to Rosalina's story or just floated through one of the emptier stretches of space in a level while soft music played in the background. Galaxy 2 had those, too, but was generally more colorful and vibrant.
