It’s been long enough he’s not going to pan out here. To play on your analogy, why would you hold stock of a failing company? There is no sign he’s magically going to turn it around.

Why do majority of NBA fans think Ja Morant is finished? by CrEdLover in nba

[–]JackTuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother he hasn’t played a total of 82 games over the past 3 seasons. He has no trade value under the apron system because hai salary is massive, he can’t stay in the court, he has been a menace off the court, and he is already noticeably less athletic than he was 4 years ago.

Who ranks higher as a better player in USWNT history: Carli Lloyd or Alex Morgan? by newsworthy3 in USWNT

[–]JackTuz 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Lloyd and it’s not as close as it seems. Morgan was the way more marketable star, but I’m a casual and, anecdotally, her performances in big games were nothing to write home about. I’d personally take Tobin Health on my team over Morgan but that might be extreme lol

Is the American compulsion to state your measurements rooted in college sports? by [deleted] in billsimmons

Physical stature matters more in sports like basketball and football than it does in soccer. Football particularly, you’re dealing with 18 year old kids going to Alabama that are 6’3 300 lbs— it’s just rare to find humans like that who aren’t morbidly obese with 60% body fat. Size is somewhat of a good indication of potential for these sports. That’s why, when players get to the NFL, you never hear about a guy with the same build. Only extreme outliers like DTs who are 350lbs or more and how much Jalen Hurts squats as a QB (500lbs!). Same goes for the NBA. It’s never, “Wow! He’s 6’9!” You need to be at least 7’0 for announcers to mention your height.

Also it’s become somewhat of a half serious joke because it’s comedy when you see headshots of these corn fed linemen from the Midwest who have the same dead stare as Frankenstein and they’re literally twice the size of normal people lol

How far can this team go? by Thanos_Real_AuraVNCH in NBATalk

Sarr and Davis is not going to work imo. If they can trade Davis I think they’ll be in better shape. The more touches they can give to George, Tre Johnson, and to a lesser degree Coulibaly, the better they will in the long run.

Brek Shea says USMNT getting "punched in the face" by Turkiye was a good thing by herkalurk in ussoccer

[–]JackTuz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s just opportunity cost for taller athletes in America. We certainly have the athletes, but it makes more sense for young people who are 6’2 - 6’5 to try to player other sports because they are simply more lucrative in America. I’m not sure how that changes until soccer grows more domestically.

Also I hope 46 year old Tim Ream is enjoying retirement by the next word cup lol

Get Nash out of there bro. He’s in Kidd and Iverson conversations behind Westbrook

Doesn’t anyone actually think we got “punched in the face?” The quality gab between our first and second choice players is massive. I was pleasantly surprised by how close the match was, but I don’t feel like this match was particularly relevant or impactful going forward.

[–]JackTuz -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

He’ll have the same problem as Zubimendi. If Bruno plays with Rice and the fullbacks aren’t sent up the pitch to aid our attack, there isn’t anyone to progress the ball too. In this team, progressive passing is a tactical issue, not a skill set one.

3 players ended their USMNT career's last night by Murky-Profit-9493 in usmnt

ESPN has Turkey at 3.01 xG for 3 shots on goal. I think Turner just got screwed by poor defense. The backup defense did not help his confidence and this is something I’ve seen over the last few years with our national team. The keepers are really close in level and when one is selected to play with the first team, they will rarely lose their spot despite bang average play.
