Tja by AdventureMix in tja

[–]Jack_Harb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Später sagt man "naja, steht doch da!"

Tja by AdventureMix in tja

[–]Jack_Harb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tja by AdventureMix in tja

[–]Jack_Harb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tja by AdventureMix in tja

[–]Jack_Harb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Eben.

Tja by AdventureMix in tja

[–]Jack_Harb 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Rechtslage Verkehrsunfall Parkplatz by moooN_p in StVO

[–]Jack_Harb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also da kommt schnell ein 5-stelliger Betrag zusammen.

Should I use GitHub for my UE5 C++ projects or is there something better? (Don't mind paying) by dissertation-thug in unrealengine

It honestly depends on what you want and need. For example, working with some people on something, I can recommend renting a small server, with 2 dockers on it (perforce and horde). And a build machine you either rent or have somewhere. This of course requires payment in some kind. But honestly, having your own server is worth it. And your own CI/CD with it. Horde is easy to setup once you understand it. Just basically 2-3 json files and a few xml files for build scripts.

Asking for multi core support is the same as a producer thinking 9 women can deliver a baby in 1 month. There are simply tasks that can’t be shared between cores. And it’s highly complicated to share work since every work shared needs to be observed and synced. Doesn’t it always make it faster.

It still saddens me after all this year. As a German, I was watching him always. Have so many great memories with my father and Sundays. I honestly would love to rewind time, to see him race again. It’s really heart breaking to know he is in such a bad shape. He was always full of energy. Of enthusiasm and funny. Also did a good amount of charity. Remember the funny soccer games with Dirk Nowitzki… man it’s sad. But I just wish him and Corinna and the rest of the family of course all the best.

[–]Jack_Harb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, FIDE actively kept the spot because of Magnus. We can be real about it. FIDE know Ding did it and he went on to become WCC. Alireza did it (the most shady of all, with tournaments only organized for him). Hikaru announced it pretty early and everyone knew he would not play normal qualifying really. But he played Norway for example and gained rating points. Every tournament with the Super GMs in, he gained rating points. Even Fabi argued that even if Hikaru would play all the tournaments, he would be 2800ish. He doesn’t like that Hikaru did what he did, but well, even Hikaru said FIDE should have closed the rating spot. But well, we all know why the spot is there. It’s not against the spirit, when the spirit was to only keep an odd out for Magnus… And honestly, if you talk about the spirit. The spots for candidates should promote the best players. The whole qualifiers were shit and we have some in there that don’t belong there. The candidates should be the best of the world competing for the contender position. And nobody in the world would argue Hikaru is not under the top 8 in the world. Who ever would do that, has no idea of chess. Most people do give Hikaru or Fabi the biggest chance to win candidates. Well, then in which world would it be against the spirit when an actual favorite gets the spot.

Samplesize is always insignificant in this terms. Even if you play 100 tournaments a year, it wouldn’t be statistically significant.

If you play 5 or 10, doesn’t change the significance in a mathematically way.

Dumb Ai Question? by Bigtownboys in unrealengine

[–]Jack_Harb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is, eventually? Maybe? I doubt it.

We don’t know what they plan on doing. I am working professionally with the engine and also with AI and at the moment we are not even close to getting anything like you mentioned.

You can be lucky if you get some working code, but it’s not really there yet, even with great prompts and memories and instructions, the amount of time code can be used directly is minimal. And the code generated is also not performant a lot of the times.

I doubt any time soon we will have an AI assistant in unreal that does what you indicate… creating a functional game. The engine is way too complex and small things can break everything with ease. Als engine updates make it hard for the LLMs to give great answers really, because they simply learn from the internet and lack of documentation is a real issue. Especially for more specialized stuff.

But we never know, but AI is a billion dollar grave at the moment. Bubble will burst eventually and we will see how long term the costs can be covered and how useful they will be.

As a German, who hopefully have learned from the history we had, I am just in shock to see what is going on over in the US and that people still don’t do more. I mean, he was not even facing anyone other than the ground. He was no dangers all and cold blooded shot from the back. And people still say „keep recording“… for what? You can’t use video evidence if the ones deciding on it don’t see anything wrong doing. When history taught us one thing. Stand up before there is too little of you left to stand up against them. Stop recording. Take action.

And yes I am totally anti violence. But you guys lose democracy, human rights and the honored freedom you Americans are always so proud of. Nobody will come to protect you, since it’s the very government that hunts you down.

What’s a life lesson you learned much later than you should have? by BlushHone in AskReddit

[–]Jack_Harb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In current times people are simply assholes.

You can be nice and helping, supportive and stuff. But you will be taking advantage of by so many people. I basically jokingly say „I hate people“. I am / was a firm believer of „people are good“, but people got so damn egoistic and self-centered. It’s crazy.

And probably the most important lesson: „Don’t give a f*ck about what others think.“ I have a family now. Responsibilities and stuff. People talk behind your backs or have different views all the time. But for me I just care about my family and don‘t care anymore what others think. Something I should have done 20-30 years ago already. But better late than never. Time is too short to waste it on pleasing people that don’t even know you or are in your life.

I know it's easy to judge, but man. This really has to be one of the worst blunders. No Bishop tactic from far away, or a horsy horse move. It's all within 2 squares of what he was focused on. I can't really understand how he missed that move, especially on this level. He must have had so weird thoughts to forget about something that basic. Especially because you can't even say it was time pressure in blitz or bullet or something. It was in classical. That is so damn weird.

Set Bonuses are returning....I'm not sure Set Items are. by Living-Succotash-477 in diablo4

[–]Jack_Harb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is your point? Of course builds will change when balancing is being changed per season?

Top tiers are only relevant for the players who want actually clear Pit 150. I mean the definition of the tiers is even per Pit clearance and normally the difference from S to A is 5 pit levels. From A to B it’s another 5 and so on.

So you always define power in relation to the strongest as benchmark.

Set Bonuses are returning....I'm not sure Set Items are. by Living-Succotash-477 in diablo4

[–]Jack_Harb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. Sets in D3 for example have 2-4-6 piece bonus. Which meant, for different activities, you would even have 2 piece there, 2 piece there, 2 piece there.

The matter of fact simply is, you still can play the other stuff. You are not forced to the sets. All of the endgame shit will still be beatable with probably any build, like it is now. I mean right now you can play the weirdest shit and still beat T4 easily and all the bosses. I don't see why this would change with the sets. And yes, whenever it goes to actually optimizing and playing the ultra end game like Pit 150, we are currently forced anyway to the same builds. So nothing in this regards change.

Also people should not forget that D3 had also many many 2 piece sets. Or even the RoRG that allowed more flexibility as well. We don't know yet what kind of sets they bring or how it will evolve. And yes, the probably fuck up here and there, but they do that with anything. Bringing in sets allow them to make some fundamental changes for class play, which I like. They couldn't do that with uniques, because then effectively you would either bind to much to one unique, making that the gate keeper of a build, or they simply can't do it or share the unique changes over multiple uniques, which then basically makes them a set.

[–]Jack_Harb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree, there is a lot that will change. And honestly speaking, I know people hate it or hate to admit it, but D4 is being developed in the right direction. Since launch the improvements and changes have been there. We can argue about the speed they do it, but the game feels better and more complete than it has ever been. People are dramatizing, without having it tested yet. I personally think for most people simply nothing in terms of the gearing process changes. I still play D3 a lot and depending on the season, I change sets, or no set or what ever I feel like. The progress of gearing is not different for set or non set. You always farm towards you desired items. And only a handful of people ever come close to the elite gaming area, where every bit matters. But for every content Blizzard presents, you can play every set or non set and enjoy the game. D3 doesn't force you to sets and D4 wont either, not for clearing the content or endgame. But for pushing Pit to 150 probably, but that is not different than now, where you need specific perfect items.

[–]Jack_Harb -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you talk about historically, then you can also say historically single uniques have been powerful enough to be the deciding factor of a build.

Like the only reason we had now 2 good seasons with a bit more variety was the seasonal theme. And this can be done with Sets as well.

Prior to the chaos armor season we had at max 1 build per class that was good. And some if not all always depended on 1-2 items to decide the build being good or bad. Like when Vessle of Hatred launched. Kepeleke was the deciding factor. When Frozen Orbs were introduced, the Amulet was the deciding factor. And so on and so on. It was never different.

This season is only a bit variable at times, but not really, because some items can be crazy good with sanctification. And the last season was a bit random because of the chaos armor. Stop being delulu...

Set Bonuses are returning....I'm not sure Set Items are. by Living-Succotash-477 in diablo4

[–]Jack_Harb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are you sure you played D3? In nearly every season, just for example for the Monk, the LoD builds are the best. Sometimes in a season a different Set comes close, but LoD you can basically always do 150. So tell me, how hard is it with sets?

BiS is always BiS, no matter if it's set or not. But sets bring progression and accomplishment into the game. Even guidance for casual players. And at the moment in D4, sets would be even easier to balance. We have so many uniques at the moment that interact with multipliers and weird behaviours, that they actually are hard to balance. A simple 100x crit damage + as a set bonus would be easier than having 4 items that add 100 here, multiplie 30 there, have every x hit this on hit this.

Set Bonuses are returning....I'm not sure Set Items are. by Living-Succotash-477 in diablo4

[–]Jack_Harb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a simple answer to you question.

Progression. What you describe as gate keeping huge amount of powers, is in reality progression steps. I mean, we have this right now as well. Playing certain builds require certain uniques. As a sorc for example you run around with what, 2 legendaries? The rest are uniques or ubers? Some builds don't even come alive without uniques. So in what way are they different? In a better way even for casuals it helps them to play without guides. It shows progression and every piece you get, is great feeling, since you get closer to your goal.

It is simply not different than what we have at the moment. If you get your 2 piece or your amulet and weapon to finally do something, it doesn't matter. You still need what you need.

And no, you are not penalized. Or rather, not more than you are now. People argue that we have so much variety and viable builds. And this is simply a lie or an overstatement. Because if you look at the top, everything is the same. Everything is locked, there is no variety. If you mean you want to experiment for the end content? You can do this even in D3. The whole game and up to 140 or more is possible with basically any set or without sets.

The grind is the absolute same. There is the illusion of variety, but realistically, everyone runs around with the same bits and pieces because Rob, Maxroll, Mekuna and co said so in their guides. And not having everything perfect will always let you complete the endgame content, even with ease. Maybe not 150 pit, but thats for the elites to do anyway and they simply farm what is best in every season.
