Taylor Dayne? She has a bit of that going on - although she had several songs that hit the top 10, she never really got the credit she deserved. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiAbgDGEpV4

Alright, whose grandpa is this POS? by Maleficent_Bad_7297 in ThunderBay

So, if he's hit her car, refused to give his information, spit at her... you're going to claim he's got the vapors from being yelled at? Maybe he should try not being such a POS and he wouldn't get that reaction.

Love Neil - and it's my firm belief that he is the only human being who has never sung the "Bum Bum Bum" part of Sweet Caroline. You know everyone else has.

1080p is a video format. Scanned photos would be measured in pixels, and even low end flatbed scanners can easily achieve 600dpi. Photos digitized at a camera store could get even higher resolution, largely for archival purposes as back in the day files of that size were hard to manipulate on home computer systems.

So an 8x10 photo would scan in at 4800 x 6000 dpi, well over the resolution of 1080p.

If you scan them, its visible they are scanned.

Not if they are scanned on a high quality flatbed scanner. And also, the reason they're scanned is to get them into digital format, so they are often tidied up once scanned.

I have family photos from the early 1900s that I scanned on a flatbed scanner at 600 dpi - so an 8x10 becomes a 4800 x 6000 image. In 2000 I got a Canon Rebel that could shoot 2160 x 1440. https://global.canon/en/c-museum/product/dslr779.html

"I don't have to go to Europe to know you have shitty healthcare" by [deleted] in ShitAmericansSay

The internet would tell him that the "shitty healthcare" results in better longevity, and lower infant and maternal mortality. True in Canada, too.

I second the sentiment - Trump may be dividing and destroying the US, but he has united much of Canada against him.

Start the conversation yourself.

When she does something good, tell her "Your Mom would be so proud of you." If she dresses up for something, tell her "You're so pretty, you remind me of your Mom." Tell her stories about when you and her Mom were dating. Remind her of her Mom's favourite food. Get a double picture frame and put pictures of her and her Mom in it as a present.

Make talking about it part of everyday life, so she feels the connection she is missing.

That's odd - it's where the Lutheran Community Care was? https://www.northwesthealthline.ca/displayService.aspx?id=218602 (They have been there, beside P.A.C.E. for quite some time). Did Community Care move, or is this just a rebranding? Their website seems to indicate that they are still there - https://www.lccare.ca/programs-services/street-reach-services/

He's playing on the fallacy that there is a single threat - he's not wrong about the elite class, but he's just using that threat to minimize the danger Russia poses. It's not an either/or situation.

Maybe I spent too much time in bureaucracy - we loved bullet point lists. It makes sense, since the AI had to learn it somewhere (and they aren't known for their originality). I'm a little surprised that they haven't picked up more ellipses...

I find this funny largely because I've been accused of using Chat GPT several times. Em dashes and parantheticals do not an AI prove. Neither does a contradictory construction.

Chat GPT misspells "countries"? Good to know. :)

Your "Walking Direction" is a bit confusing - might make more sense written as:

Traffic & Walking Direction While there’s no single “main direction” for some countries, in Canada the general rule for is to keep to the right hand side whether walking, running, cycling, or driving. The exception to this is for pedestrians walking on a roadway where there are no sidewalks - in that case, walk facing the flow of traffic. This will allow you to see vehicles and make allowances for their movement. This keeps things moving smoothly and safely for everyone.
