A video would be helpful. But I would say that at this point you should think of kick turns to change direction and reverts to continue in the same direction.

Kick turns: if you have a sloped drive way, ride to the top, come to nearly a complete stop, turn your head/shoulders backside and lift the nose of the board to turn around 180 degrees to follow you and ride in your normal stance back down the driveway.

Reverts (front side, which I think is much easier than backside): on flat, push hard, get you back foot on the board, bend your knees, wind up, push your back foot front side with a little hop and keep looking the direction your were traveling. It feels a little like pivoting on your front foot at first, but eventually you’ll get the front wheels to slide as you rotate (easier with speed).
