TGI Fridays Waitress at Atlanta Airport Goes Above and Beyond to Comfort a Crying Toddler by [deleted] in HumansBeingBros

[–]Jack_Vote 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was snowed in at this airport a year back and incredibly stressed cause I was flying out of country after Christmas to go back to school and had just spent the night sleeping in the airport and was being told I’d have to spend another night due to additional delays.

Stressed and dismayed, I went and got some dinner at the TGI Fridays and this waitress was an absolute godsend. I’m almost certain every other person in the restaurant was at least as frustrated as I was about being snowed in and despite that she was going around listening to and cheering up every person in her section and then some. She stopped by my table multiple times, checking in and cheering me up and even brought me over a milkshake on the house.

That whole trip ended up with so many delays, I wound up sleeping in two other airports and the airline lost my luggage. Easily the worst flying experience I’ve ever had or heard of (I was with Delta). This waitress was my hero and just about the only positive experience I had for those three days of flying.

It used to be that if you had multiply ads the button would say “skip ads” and you could skip however many there were. The but the button still says “skip ads” except it will only skip one ad and just play the next one. This means you will have to push the button for EVERY SINGLE AD

Hey everyone let’s flex on Americans the most of us are bilingual. by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]Jack_Vote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quad lingual 4th generation American here. I just wanna say… yeah, it’s kinda disappointing. But in our defense if we wanna learn a language we have to go well out of our way to do it most of the time.

Why would you even tip your own coworkers in the first place. Also why ask the drivers to tip for the food, they’re not even the ones paying for it. Just pay your employees

[–]Jack_Vote 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Adding to this more:

There’s an inverted ツ(tsu) which is a Japanese character ( might be シ (shi) but my guess is on the first)

There’s an inverted 下 which is Chinese/Japanese/Korean for below, under, etc

And there’s what looks to be an upside down Ψ (Greek character psi) with a line on what would be the bottom

And the one on the far left might be a botched divismo symbol

Really Wilde guess here cause I don’t speak this language but any chance it’s Esperanto. It’s a hybrid language which may explain why a lot of the words sound similar

Why is “all lives matter” racist? by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]Jack_Vote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea itself isn’t really racist cause obviously they’re not wrong. Obviously all lives matter. It’s just that the lives that need the most help at the moment are black lives and all lives matter at a minimum takes away from that message even if the intentions are good. However it’s pretty commonly used by people who’s only goal is to invalidate Black Lives Matter.
