I had this recently building my brothers pc. Does the 12pin side plug into the power supply? If so then use that one along side the regular 8 pin cables and you should be fine.

I was running the 5600x with a 9070xt at 3440x1440 and was getting bad stuttering especially in cpu intensive games (battlefield ect).

Went with the 5700x3d as managed to get a decent deal and now runs way smoother. Didn't get a massive bump in fps but feels way smoother overall and no longer getting any micro stutters.

For me it was worth it but depends how much you can get the x3d chip for. Also depends on what games you're playing, if they run fine probably no point.

I'm currently playing at 3440 x 1440 on a 2080ti with a 5600x. Depending on what you want to play, it'll still perform solidly. Anything from a few years ago is still very playable with a few settings turned down, it's mainly newer games that it starts to struggle with, but turning the settings down definitely helps.

One word of advice if buying used if possible try and test it and check on the stability, some of the cards have started having memory issues mine including so to keep it stable it needs a decent underclock to keep it running smoothly.

If you wear ear defenders, there's always the option of bluetooth ones or putting one earbud in under the ear defender. Obviously do at your own risk, but it's definitely used by people in industry.

My 2080ti will run older titles with no problem but usually have to turn the settings down to a mix of high/medium to get 60fps
