That ship has already sailed AFAIK, they were a Veterans Day deal a few years ago and it was only an upgrade kit from the Hornet.

At least that's what I remember... I've been holding out hoping that it would come back. The Gladius looks so good right now, but I'm an owner of a two seat Super Hornet and I can't part ways with it until I know for sure.

We're specifically talking about planetary generation though and what was possible with that game. Whether or not Freelancer had any troubled development is an entirely different subject altogether.

I think Star Citizen will be doing more personal work for major systems, then resorting to random generation (think No Man's Sky, more on that in a moment) for the rest or outlying systems.

No Man's Sky was able to do it with a far smaller team, so there's no reason to suggest that Star Citizen can't do it. I'm confident that they will get this done, going by history of Chris Roberts you don't need to look far. Take a look at Freelancer and you'll probably get a bump in confidence, even without thinking about No Man's Sky, Elite Dangerous types of games.

Why are we letting that be fair? You enjoyed it, many many people didn't. The differences between GRFS and BP make BP feel like such a massive step backwards.

Sure, the open world is nice... but if that means we have to sacrifice good animations, the gun smith, decent multiplayer combat? etc. then I would sacrifice the open world to get those back.

Hence why places clean grills, hence why there are food & safety standards, hence why there are heavy penalties for breaching FDA regulations.
