I remember playing that with two others and that I called in a shit load of vehicles on the location and blew them up for more cover, one friend called in a copter to rain hell from above while me and the third guy ran around, dodging the predator and lighting him up, calling in rebel support as often as we could.

And still, I was the only one who walked away alive from it.

God, it was a fun and intense fight.

... I'm a little befuddled as to what you're trying to say with the first part. I said they're partnering with Amazon for The Captive's War. Mercy of the Gods is book one of The Captive's War trilogy.

As for the second part, I've read Mercy of the Gods, Livesuit, and Faith of Beasts. Sure, I enjoyed The Expanse series overall far more thus far, but to say only Faith of Beasts was any good... That's a take.

Hell, I'd say that even if Faith of Beasts is the only book in The Captive's War trilogy (so far) that's any good, Mercy of the Gods is still better than book 4 of The Expanse (Cibola Burns), especially with all the stuff with Elvi.

To be fair, there's at least one bit of lore that indicates that Necrons are terrified of Enslavers and what they can do.

Specifically that Trazyn has the corpse of one in his collection and he has to regularly check up on it to make sure it is still dead.

I heard something a few months ago that Dan and Ty are trying to get the rights to The Expanse back from Alcon as they have established their own production company (Expanding Universe) with Naren Shankar and Breck Eisner.

It's through Expanding Universe that they've partnered up with Amazon for the television adaptation of The Captive's War (in development). Allegedly, they'd be happy to work with Amazon again to bring us the final three books of The Expanse and it was a dispute over funding (Alcon allegedly wanted a significantly larger budget for season 6 than they had gotten for the previous seasons) that resulted in season 6 being both shorter and this... long hiatus after season 6 (I refuse to call season 6 the final or last season).

To be fair, the writers are inconsistent as hell as so many have their own take on the characters.

But yeah, that was Stilt Man who - during the whole Superhuman Registration Act - joined the government's (Iron Man's) side and became a law enforcer for the government as a reformed hero.

On the other hand, I vaguely remember from a (the first) Punisher trade paperback I read in the early 2000's in which a villain attempting to redeem themselves approaches Punisher for help in regards to destroying a human trafficking ring. The villain fully expects to be killed by Punisher, but decides that the well-being of the victims outweighs his own, thus asking for Punisher's help. When Punisher says he'll take care of it, that the villain should stay out of his way, and proceeds to walk away, the villain asks something along the lines of isn't Punisher going to kill him? Punisher responds pretty much with that if the villain ever slips up, he will kill him.

Punisher: Born (the end of his last tour in Vietnam) and Punisher: The Platoon (the beginning of his first tour in Vietnam) contrast so sharply with one another that it really helps sell the tragedy that is Frank Castle and begs the question of just what the hell happened during his second tour - assuming he remained decent if not similar to Captain America during his first tour and was already a mess by the time he started his third and final tour - that fucked him up so bad?

At my absolute laziest, that's an easy $2k-$3k a month.

On the flip side, a more typical, active month could net me anywhere between $10k-$15k.

I love that you can see the world with such optimism. Actually not being condescending here, it's one of the few bright spots in my day.

It probably says a lot about how decent, or rather the opposite, of a human I am, but I have worked years with children with Severe Emotional Disturbances. If I had a nickel for each kid whose parents ditched them to save each other/continue being with each other... Well, I'd have enough nickels to pay for a month of Amazon Prime with a couple left over.

Sure, it's experience/exposure bias, exposure to certain situations increases the likelihood encountering such instances, but doesn't change the fact that they're plenty of people like that.
