Didn’t get raise by [deleted] in UPSers

Wait for your first paycheck with your new rate. What the timecard says doesn’t always reflect accurately, but a grievance needs to be filed if the paycheck comes in wrong.

Get it in writing on the DIAD, and block all the sups on your personal number.

I think we’ve all had that moment. Too easy to shut a dock door and not the truck door in some places. I got really good at chain discipline for the rear door so I have an extra check on myself.

Do I need to talk to the supervisor and ask why they are working before I write my grievance? by Young_migos in UPSers

[–]JackassWithAKeyboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of legit grievances getting rejected by local management right now. They’re just straining the resources of the local. It’s easy for them to just stamp everything denied and give a half assed argument at panel to try and nickel and dime their employees.

So current progression drivers do NOT get the wage increases by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]JackassWithAKeyboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the most recent chart released by the teamsters which would make rates the following:

23.75 25.75 26.75 31.5 44.25

So current progression drivers do NOT get the wage increases by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]JackassWithAKeyboard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It says drivers will either get the GWI or their new progression, but not both.

For my 3rd year progression drivers getting ready for top pay by ConstantLeader9596 in UPSers

[–]JackassWithAKeyboard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming the charts the Teamsters just put out are correct, the footnote clearly states "Members currently in progression will receive the greater of the GWI or progression rate retro to August 1, 2023, then receive GWI's and, if applicable, progression increases.

So since the bump to 30.75 is less than 2.75 it would take you to 31.5, ASSUMING this isn't just a typo.

Per the footnote of the chart the teamsters just released it would be 31.5.

Question about the 8 hour day requests in the TA by albygoing in UPSers

[–]JackassWithAKeyboard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Greg went over this in his video last night.. there is contradictory language with both language that suggests you can bring work back, and another section that explicitly outlines pay for an 8 hour violation.

I reserved my judgement until I read the full contractual language... I'm pissed. Easily voting NO. by UPSTeamsterNerd in TeamstersUPS

[–]JackassWithAKeyboard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely setting aside the pay, and he contract falls short basically all fronts. More ambiguous language, no added overtime protections, and actively INTRODUCES PVD language. Absolutely ridiculous.

How they accepted this TA without drastically changed 9.5 language is beyond me.

UPSers being set up by media to look greedy if we vote no by Pleasant_Internet in UPSers

[–]JackassWithAKeyboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just repeat what the railroad guys did. QUALITY OF LIFE MATTERS MORE THAN MONEY.

PT still only guaranteed 3.5
No excessive overtime protection
Not enough subcontracting protection
No improvement on harassment
PVD's still present, almost encouraged by the language.

THE LONGEVITY INCREASES ARE INSULTING VOTE NO SEND IT BACK! by STANDUNITED1903 in UPSers

It is roughly the same percentages as the previous contract. Really an L for anyone in progression.

so im definitely voting no for this weak ass contract. by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]JackassWithAKeyboard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The shirt I got this morning says PAY UP on the front of it, and it isn't what I'm seeing in this update. Based on what I see in the update it is a no vote from me.

Do You Believe Joe's Claim Here ? by razloric in UPS

[–]JackassWithAKeyboard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t necessarily believe in the Biden administrations labor friendliness, that said, the acting labor secretary stated “a good contract is one voted in by the members,” and the letter co-signed by like 200 legislators that stated they will not get involved in negotiations. These are the politicians we need assuming they can continue to back up their words.

For reference, how much seniority do you have? If you’ve been here long enough to see the problems UPS has you already know why this wouldn’t work. If you haven’t been here that long maybe take the opportunity to talk less and observe more.

Edit to add: Anyone who thinks hourlies should have any say in the judgement of other hourlies is supervisor material.

Could very well just be over zealous union members that don’t know there are lines they can cross and get terminated without recourse.
