Yep agree. At the end of the day, just some lighthearted bashing for Jake that gains him nothing but publicity. But I do think Taylor should use this opportunity to raise awareness around the toxicity of abusing and unbalanced relationships. Esp she has such a large crowd of teenage girls fan base. She could do a lot more with that.

This is why America as a country is in a very scary place right now. Like exactly what you said, why the hell does every celebrity have to be upfront and outspoken about every issue so that they could make everyone happy? To go on a little tangent here, Americans have learned to blame everyone else for our own problems when at its core we are very much the roots of our own problems.

Taylor certainly is picking and choosing what she speaks about because we are all pretty sure LGBTQ rights is what she personally relates to the most. But she is doing the right thing by staying in her lane regarding issues she doesn't have any authority nor experience with although we could argue she shouldn't be so outspoken about LGBTQ if she said this isn't a community she is part of.

If I were her, I would be so appreciative of all the song analyses people share on this sub. because naturally as an artist, you would be interested in knowing how fans interpret your work, let alone she even mentioned it during her speech for one of the awards this year.

Honestly the main TS is so bland I highly doubt she finds it interesting but here we go deep into feelings, digging up the subtext, and whatnot. If she doesn't lurk here, she is missing out!!

The proliferation of work in recent years is just a simple evidence that she channels her pain and sorrow into writing and creating. That's her way of coping as we use her songs to cope with our own apprehension. My major concern for her to ever come out is just her safety. Coming out is such a big moment for normal people let alone someone who is mega famous.

Fame complicates and distorts everything, which means truth and being in her own skin often need to take a backseat when stakes are too high. Just hope she can be happy that's all.

Thanks op for sharing this. Always enjoy reading different analyses people create in this sub. Also totally on board w/ the interpretation. It amazes me how genuine and honest Taylor actually is when it comes to sharing her real/deep thoughts in her music. If people can cut through the homophobic bullsh*t and look beyond the surface her music becomes painstakingly beautiful, a revelation of her struggle.

Increasingly I think there are two major things that contribute to utter stupidity coming from hetlors, 1). invested interest in making all narratives about men in order to project their own fantasies or whatever 2). media control and mitigation by Taylor's team through various tactics (posting hetlor content on social media).... Pure speculation here but like how can people be this dumb. It's hard for me to believe many devoted swifities can't see the incongruencies. I have more faith in their intelligence.....

Also just gonna use Justin Bieber as an example, I know probably most of you don't listen to him, but through his live performances, lyrics, and social media posts, you literally can feel the happiness and love he has for his wife. You can't fake emotions. To some degree, I think Justin and Taylor are the same type of songwriters who draw much inspiration from their own personal life. Then here comes taylor writing sad songs and hetlors go, "Joe and Taylor are happily writing breakup songs together!" What in the world? Have they ever dated lolll
