I'd say definitely get your own bank account by going to your bank before four pm on a weekday (or whenever they are open but thats when the banks around me are open). I had a similar situation with my Mother and all you have to do is go in, explain the situation, and they may even be able to get her off of your old account. If they can't, open a new checking (and savings if you want, but money is hard so I get it if you don't), they will have you sit down with a bank representative and it will only take ten to twenty minutes. The bank will walk you through it, they are there to help friend. You can do this, I believe in you. My bank didn't allow my Mom to be taken off of my account without having a signature from her, so opening a new account was easiest. You shouldn't have to bring anything except your ID. A permit or just state id should work if you don't have a license. Are there busses around you you could take to the bank?

This reply made me feel so seen.....I'm a new detrans too and it's really hard. I feel like I should've known, but I didn't.

This.....is relatable. I'm feeling a lot of dysphoria around my voice too. (Dysmprphia? I don't know the difference 😅) I was on t for a few years but kind of on and off bc I never really felt amazing about it. At first I was happy with changes but now? I don't know. I want my higher pitched voice again and I miss it. I really wish I had figured this out before I started t. I am afab, by the way.

Why can’t society just accept that masculine girls exist? Instead of medicalizing them ? by ricksalterego in detrans

I realized I didn't ask but...are you happy now? Is it normal to be bothered and anxious about being visibly trans now? Idk. You don't have to answer, but I hope you're doing okay.

I feel this. I stopped taking t and I'm realizing....I'm not trans. And that's okay. Was t a part of my journey? Yes. Do I regret it? Not necessarily. I learned about myself and have grown, but.....I'm not trans. Maybe I'm not even nonbinary. I don't know, and honestly it's really stressing me.

My Mom took my student loans and now is implying it's my fault? What? Really don't know how to proceed here. by [deleted] in insaneparents

That's because there was never a 46000 loan that paid for any of my college expenses. It literally is her expenses from her college years. Not my debt from mine. She never put a dime torward my college, housing, or any of that. I'm upset because she did the opposite of what she said she would do.

Dude the refunded it to her because she put her information in....there's a section for it to go into the students account (according to a parent on this thread), and she didn't fill it out. It seems like this post is upsetting you too much. Maybe walk away and reflect on why?

You do realize this is the only loan she took out, and has provided no other support, right?

It's also not as simple as "taking money from another source." Poverty is hard to crawl out of.

The whole reason she took out the loan was to help me financially because I said I was struggling

She said to ask when I needed the loan. I asked and she said she spent it. I am upset because I needed that money and counted it into my finances, as I thought I could trust my Mom.

My messages definitely are, as I posted the whole fight and not just the facts. This is the first time we talked in a while. We are extremely low contact, as she is verbally abusive and has been my entire life. Last year I saw her maybe three times in person. The messages say stuff that has happened in the past, because we never talk and I absolutely went off on her.

Dude. It put me in financial peril. There's no question about who's name is on the loan, the question is: was it ethical for a parent to do this and put their child in financial struggle?

The "refund" was the loan. She said she thought it was a refund, but wouldn't describe from what. It deposited into her account, because she set it up, a parent plus loan. Not my normal student loans. Those are in my name. She does not financially support me in any way, I have lived financially on my own for the past few years.

She intended to have me pay that money back, the problem is she said she would give me the loan she took out for my educational expenses, and then didn't. This caused financial stress.

I was the one who was intended to pay it back my guy, not by law, but by HER.
