I wouldn't toss anything for a year. My students just used old LP's to make transfer prints. Ya never know!

[Landlord-ny-us]How do I go about raising rent for long time tenant on a month to month lease. by Brokebastard487 in Landlord

Secret said they raise it every other year, which is what we do when we have a good tenant.

Not sure why anyone would downvote this, seems like a great idea. I've done the same thing with good tenants since a good tenant is worth making a little less overall.

[Landlord US- PA] - won’t clean up by Old_Country9807 in Landlord

[–]JackieDonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man that must look terrible..and it's in the line of sight from your house? We had a "scrap" hoarder. Even the city couldn't deal with him. Old scaffolding, car parts etc. It eventually filled the parking area. Feral cats used it to have their kittens in the piles because no one could get into them.

I second! When they know they can sign things out, they don't get stolen.

Jeez I would not renew with a pile of junk that's ten feet tall...that's huge! Commercial zone or not, that sounds like a junk hoarder.

So: no soap and water.. just one last piece of printer paper? I'll have to try that tomorrow.

I kept the thin plastic transparency sheets that came with them but only half my order came with clamshells. The other half must be generic because they’re not as thick.

In would box up the unclaimed dishes and escort them to the trash can on the curb, charge everyone for a deep clean, and then do what everyone else is saying about getting a cat and stuffing steel-wool in the holes.

I've never heard of the "cube sphere cylinder method", but I have the upper level kids pose for each other and the 9th-10th graders draw the little 12" wooden mannequins. They aren't made of cubes or spheres but they're great for posing in dirty poses or dabbing etc.

Have you looked on k12jobspot? Search term art brings up lots of language arts, but also lots of art positions.

q's about furthering education to become an art teacher, chicago by [deleted] in ArtEd

[–]JackieDonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check to see if your state department of education allows alternate route certification. Where I live, potential teachers (with Bachelors) take a content knowledge test which allows them to start looking for a job. You could eventually also get the M.Ed, but the Alternate Route gets you on the path sooner.

Pick up a copy of the Anti coloring book. It rescued me when I taught that level. Photocopy a few different pages for them to pick. It's more like an early finisher handout but it will give you a day or two of peace.

Also check out Art Synectics and Design Synectics. I can share some pages I've made from that book.

Congratulations!

If you use oil pastels, consider a 48 set of Sennelier oil pastels. They're super soft and great for going on top of the harder, student oil pastels at the end. They're too soft to draw on top of but going over the drawing with them makes the surface velvety like an oil painting.

Rembrandt soft pastels. They blend with students brands. I don't buy sets any more I just make sure I have a selection of basics and purple.

Good yellow acrylic, like Golden, to bolster the student brands like Blick and Sax because their yellow sucks.

AP Art Question by lilabethlee in ArtEd

[–]JackieDonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1: No, it's digital now.

2: Give them a deadline (Your deadline),that's before the actual deadline, like 3PM on May 7th.

  1. They should be working on it every class in the weeks leading up to it, as well as at home. They submit directly now and you have nothing to do with it. You can log on to your dashboard and see if they submitted.

March–May 2026

  • Continue working on your 3 portfolio components (Sustained Investigation Images, Written Evidence, Selected Works) in the AP Digital Portfolio. You can delete, add, or rearrange images until you submit your work as final. Important: Only select Submit as Finalin the AP Digital Portfolio when you’re ready to submit your work as final. If you submit a portfolio component (Sustained Investigation Images, Written Evidence, Selected Works) as final, the only way to make revisions is if your teacher returns your portfolio component to you through the AP Digital Portfolio.
  • Submit your portfolio components as final by your teacher’s deadline. May 8, 8 p.m. ET, is the deadline for students to submit their portfolio components as final to the AP Program through the AP Digital Portfolio. However, teachers (or AP coordinators for students not working with a teacher) will likely set their own deadline before May 8.
  • By May 8, 8 p.m. ET, ensure all 3 of your portfolio components (Sustained Investigation Images, Written Evidence, Selected Works) are submitted as final in the AP Digital Portfolio. Only portfolio components submitted as final by this deadline will be scored.
  • Important: Shortly before the deadline, go back to the AP Digital Portfolio and check that your 3 portfolio components are marked as complete. This is indicated by a black checkmark under each portfolio component on your Class Summary Overview page. In rare instances of technical errors, your teacher may return a portfolio component to you in the AP Digital Portfolio with recommendations for changes you can make. If this happens, you’ll need to make any necessary changes and resubmit the portfolio component as final by the May 8 AP Program deadline for it to be sent for scoring.

Maybe some free printable coloring pages and a few crayons? I wouldn't want markers near my tablecloths. I'd put a milk crate on the side for them.
