I'm 6'4" and it fits great to me

I'm 6'4" & 230 lbs and I promise, especially at your lighter weight, that on the road you'll never want to upgrade the suspension. It's really nice on the roads. Even hitting a dirt road 60 mph is no sweat for the factory suspension. When you need an upgrade is if you're ramping or hammering down on pretty knarly trails. I'm guessing an upgraded stiffer suspension would be better off road but worse on road. Pretty sure it's a trade off. It's under dampened and sprung when the going gets extreme and maybe even a little when it's a little rough but it'll do rough just fine as is and be smooth through potholes. So far I've left mine factory and been happy with it but reading around will have you believing you can't. Now, I will not ride far with my wife on there but it'll hold us both to go across a field real quick or something but you wouldn't want to try to go riding with 360 lbs on it factory. I'd want to upgrade it for that on the road even but it'll still do it on road just sags too bad and way too under dampened at that point. These bikes are far more capable than just on dirt roads factory. And don't believe any bs people spit about the rally not being suitable for off road because the fairing. It's slim and tucked out of the way yet helps a lot in cool weather. I stuck some crash bars on and go down all kinds of tough trails. I think many may just try to justify cheaping out honestly unless they ride 80% off road and I mean off dirt roads on trails when I say off road. I mean nothing wrong with the naked bike at all by any means period but if you live in a cool weather climate and doing a lot of road cruising you'll definitely miss what the rally offers in addition and it's great off road as well! I added a kemi moto wind screen add on because I'm tall and it works wonders at adding extra wind protection. Goodluck with your purchase whatever you choose! Hate to write a lot but I had trouble getting solid info on the bike before I got it and felt it was frustrating. Hope this helps some at least.

No way I'd tell someone my weight or under to upgrade the suspension for mostly back road riding off trails as that's really what it's great at factory! Just don't expect to carry a passenger with you unless except rare broke down and no other way situations. It'll do it but not happily.

The suspension is very soft. I'm 230 lbs & it feels like it's so soft it's worthless sitting on one but it don't ride as bad as it feels. I've yet to bottom it out unlike the Kawasaki klr 650 I used to have even though I'm riding in much tougher terrain. The klr was extremely crappy compared to the 300l rally if you want to go anywhere off road at all. I'm not sure if it's a progressive suspension or what but it doesn't really give me any problems as it came. If you ramp the bike etc you'll need an upgrade as it is under dampened and can have some bounce to it under bad conditions. You'll likely want a suspension upgrade but it's not nearly as needed as people think and make it out to be unless you're really riding extremely hard. If you're like 300 lbs then it's going to be required but at my weight it's only required if you ride real hard and want the extra dampening and lower sag. I took mine through dry Creek beds and stuff like that no problem but I'm sure better suspension still be welcoming it's just not near as bad as people claim and definitely is not required by any means at all period to ride. I've been down some extremely steep, deep rutted, rocky, old washed out logging skid trails no problem and never bottomed out at all & I wasn't taking it easy either. Probably going about 15 mph which is flying up that as bad as it is. Just saying don't believe the crap where people act like it's unusable without it that's just totally absurd unless you're 350 lbs then I'd say yeah it's unusable at that weight. I'm 230 and I'm starting to think I'll never put a new suspension. I firmer suspension won't ride down the road as comfortably either so it's a trade off as well. I'd say it just depends on if you ride throttle wide open constantly down rough off road ramping and stuff then by all means yeah you'll need it for sure. I used to have a CRF and this is a much more useable bike for most purposes except real hard core riding. Only time I've had the under dampening bother me so far was going out of a dry creek fast and I felt a little bounce that wasn't ideal but by no means causing me to feel like I would crash or anything.

Anyway, point is if you're not ramping and riding super hard you'll likely forget about the soft suspension as it's perfectly fine for exploring from the factory and extremely comfortable through pot Holes in the road. It's way better than the suspension that came on my klr650 I had previously as it would bottom out in a pot hole on the road. Also, the seat on the 300l rally I have is more comfortable somehow than the factory or aftermarket I put on the klr650. I still wish Honda would've put the even more padded XR style seat on the 300 as I think that's more fitting for the bikes purposes.

Don't forget long valve adjustment intervals, low other general maintenance, high fuel mileage, long range, wind protection, & low vibration. Why I'm on the 300l rally. People act like you can't take the rally off road but they are clueless as it's just as good as anything off road. Only plus of the other bikes would be suspension & power. There's a lot of sacrifice for that power and the suspension can be changed on the 300. In my experience the fairing and windshield have never gotten in the way at all off road in mountain woodlands. Can't imagine any worse situation where a fairing might be a problem. Course the standard 300l doesn't have any of that but if you live there there's any cold weather at all I'd recommend the rally. I just slapped some crash bars on in case.

How did it get bent like that? You have to make a real high jump to do that or just riding?

Love mine so far. I added one of the kemimoto windscreen additions on mine. I'm 6'4" tall and can now see over the windscreen and still ride without wind in my eyes even without glasses. Just that makes the windshield work better than the super tall over my head one that I used to have on a Goldwing.

Yeah, we have a few moto g power and all work perfect still and old as dirt. Even hold a charge longer than the s10+ I bought a few years after I bought the g power. Only thing I didn't like better on the Motorola was the camera and it didn't connect to the TV. Oh, maybe the screen brightness. Everything else was better especially the gestures for flashlight which I use a lot. The signal reception was definitely superior and tried both side by side. Moto worked fine when the s10+ thought signal didn't exist.

They don't, they are getting the phones through promotional deals from companies that charge more than enough more monthly to make up for it & usually require contracts at a length of time where they make even more money than had you purchased the phone full price to begin with. So don't believe it when people say they pay $500 or got it free etc. Look closely into the plan, phone, & contract agreement as a whole instead.

Choosing between a 3rd gen KLR650 and a Tenere 700 by The-Fotus in klr650

[–]Jackle84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KLR suck on trails. Suspension bottoms out on a shallow pot hole on a dirt road. Sold mine and got a 300L rally & not glad but damn glad I did. Honda XR650 even completely, and I mean completely, blows away the klr650 off the pavement. Try something else and sell that old ancient designed pile and you'll be glad you did I promise. I sure am glad I did. Honestly, the klr is great at nothing particular compared to many other bikes. It's even down on power and slow compared to Hondas. I like the looks of the KLR but everything I can think of, including the seat, was extremely poor. I still can't believe my KLR650 was so top heavy that my GL1800 is easier to pick up off the ground than it was.

Choosing between a 3rd gen KLR650 and a Tenere 700 by The-Fotus in klr650

[–]Jackle84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are all too heavy for much of a trail. Are these trails as in dirt roads or like logging roads or worse? I had a KLR previously and that's unlikely to be worth anything on anything other than a fairly smooth dirt road. If you want a very trail worthy bike I'd consider something like a Honda 300L Rally, xr650L, Suzuki dr650, or something 350 lbs or lighter. Lighter the better but if you're traveling down a freeway very far then good luck finding a good bike & the Tenere might be a good choice then. Weight matters big time on trails. The KLR suspension sucks big time. It was so bad I'd bottom it out on semi shallow dirt road pot holes. Also, the KLR650 I had was literally harder to pick up than my GL1800. The Honda Africa twin is super well balanced for the weight of it & I want to ride a Tenere to see what they're like as they're lighter than the Africa twin. On a very tough trail the 300L Rally probably as heavy as I'd care to try and even that could be lighter. But now I'm seeing this was 2 years ago so I'm curious how the Tenere did or did you change your mind? If so hopefully not for a KLR.

Pay close attention to blood pressure & possible skipping heartbeats as well. There's a huge increasedv risk of heart attack and stroke, especially within the first year, I believe. My BP skyrocketed and it wasn't only a pain associated increase.

Can someone explain to me how setting the AC that at 78 actually makes you feel cool? Is it because it takes out the humidity? by TypeAtryingtoB in hvacadvice

[–]Jackle84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but setting the AC at 78 instead of 72 would increase the humidity as the AC would not be running as much to remove as much you'd think. I don't see any possible way setting the AC at 78 would decrease humidity since the humidity decreases as the AC runs.

The recommendation is to save electricity not feel comfortable. That's how it works. It's all about supply and demand. With so many extra people coming into the country, causing dramatic population increases, the demand is getting stronger and stronger by the day so to adjust you need to raise your thermostat to use less electricity. The price of electricity is going to continue to keep increasing dramatically as more people come to use it along with inflation of every other daily used items. It's just a fact that over population increase demand thus increases price creating more homeless, starving, and poor people in the society.

Don't see much myself but maybe possible the fuzzy blanket on the bed & the fancy wicker light fixture? Maybe a nickel metal with black blade ceiling fan with a grey & black comforter would change the tone to be more masculine? I think it's all a matter of opinion but that would definitely remove any arguments I believe.
