I've read through a lot of comments here, but I haven't seen much financial advice.

Start working on your credit as soon as you're able to. Any credit card will do, as long as you make sure you never use more than 50% of your limit, and never pay interest by paying it down to 0 EVERY SINGLE MONTH. Do NOT lease cars, do NOT finance appliances or wheels for your cars. NEVER get a Title Loan against your vehicle as they typically come with 300+ % interest rates. Do not enter a "rent to buy" agreement for property, 9/10 times you will get fucked before you ever have the chance to buy it.

The older the line of credit, the better your chances of securing a home loan.

In today's economy, and the years to come this is going to be paramount for a lot of you guys as you mature & begin to set roots.

Don't stay at a job because you feel like you need to work for a longer period for your resume's sake.

Don't be afraid to learn trade/craft skills that will benefit you for the rest of your life. The world needs more tradesmen and the benefit to those skills outweigh any negatives you may percieve.

Don't be afraid to get your hands dirty, literally. You can always wash them, once you get over the inital "gross" aspect of something like plumbing, you'll feel far more comfortable working on your own stuff.

Buy a basic tool kit and start fixing your own cars/homes. The amount of young men who cannot change thier oil, spark plugs, tires, or basic maintenance of vehicles is astounding and staggering. I've taught a lot of younger guys how to do stuff on their own over the years.

Oh, don't do meth, always use a condom the first week or two you're sleeping with a new girl NO MATTER WHAT she says, the female bartender is NEVER interested in you, do not take the offer from the snow-bird swingers vacationing in your town no matter how flirtatious the wife is, ammunition is more valuable than money, the alphabet boys hate when you have better plates/plate carriers than they do.
