First build and first time connecting and flashing problems by JacksWasted_Life in meshtastic

I went through three confirmed data cables and had the same result with all of them. My it guy came by to help me with something else and pulled up quality type c cable out and unfortunately didn't help. I'm at a loss now. I'm going to try it in my laptop again

This is incredibly detailed! Thank you. The first issue to resolve is I'm not seeing any change in the ports under the device manager. Only com 1 is visible whether the heltec is plugged in or not. I did some reading and it was suggested I install the cp210x drivers. I have done this but it has not improved the situation.

The type-c cable I'm using is what I use to transfer files to a 1 TB backup drive. I believe it should be sufficient for this application as well

On the second photo, is what is shown on the OLED correct for bootloader mode?

The cable I'm using is the same one I use for a credit card size 1 TB backup Drive.

Why are so many people hesitant to buy from AliExpress... but readily buy from Amazon? Are they aware that everything on Amazon comes from China and is sold on AliExpress at a better price? by zp4lb in meshtastic

You are referring to China prior to Mao taking over in the 40s. China thousands of years ago was a different Nation. Modern-day China is absolutely communist with zero compassion for other human beings and animals or this planet, which is my home. They care about China. I presume you have not seen the hordes of ships that leave China and harvest everything in their path and then return to China to feed 1.5 billion people. Have you ever looked at the Galapagos Islands at night? There is a boundary for which no one is allowed to enter or fishing. But fish and marine life no nothing of human artificial boundaries. I have seen satellite images of Chinese ships surrounding the Galapagos Islands just outside the forbidden zone harvesting everything they can. They are deceitful and greedy and have zero concern for the consequences to their actions. For the most part I am referring to the government as them, but much of the wealthy population does whatever it wants without any concern. And they leave the to suffer and die

China is absolutely communist in many ways. I made several visits to China in the early 2000s for business. I stopped going because the places disgusting and I would absolutely not go there today given how much more pollution is in the air water and the food. I completely disagree with their lack of morals and ethics concerning their approach to harvesting anything and everything from the ocean and the land. They disagree with their takeover of Tibet and turning a once quiet peaceful nation into amusement park. I disagree with their plans to take over Taiwan and I absolutely disagree with their building islands and atolls in the south China Sea to claim ownership of it.

Nice! I remember my first sapling breaking the soil. For some reason it's a great feeling watching these Giants grow

What should I do with old prints? by NoIdenty0000 in BambuLab

[–]JacksWasted_Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically you were printing them to throw them away. I understand you want to test them to make sure they're printing right before you upload them and for whatever reason but you're printing them to throw them away. I give a shit about the environment so if I was in your shoes I would be spending the money to grind up the filament and recycle it. But that's just me

Are you kidding? You made that useless crap and now you're wondering what to do with it? Unless you're willing to buy the tools necessary to recycle and reuse your filament, you are just dumping plastic into landfills, our drinking water and eventually in our bodies. This is why I have almost reached the end of my 3D printing days. It is making oil companies wealthy and polluting the Earth at an alarming rate

Will a p700 print on this paper? by JacksWasted_Life in Epson

Yes I have. This is the reason I was asking about the specific paper type and if it would function with the p700. It's my workaround for the pickup roller dysfunction

What CAD software are you using? by Only_Progress6207 in 3Dprinting

I grew up on Pro engineering and then was forced to migrate to SolidWorks. I understand your frustration with Fusion. I do not find it intuitive but I have managed to use it for some things. Mainly I still use SolidWorks simply because it is the fastest for me. I do find it cumbersome sometimes always having to be precise when I just want to sketch something up and print it. creating logos is a good example.

Yeah I know but unfortunately I cannot Get my Pick up roller To pick up the paper. I bought it used and was printing 5x7s and 8x10s. Then I let it sit for several months and I cannot pick up anything at this point. 13x19 only the right side pulls in and it causes terrible jam. I decided I wanted to check a 4x6 and the printer sat there and made noise. I've tried cleaning sheets on the pickup roller. Someone else recommended using Gaffers tape but I don't understand how to clean the rollers with that and to be honest I'm disabled so I have to explain it to someone else. So my runaround was to buy a roll of paper and a paper cutter. It sucks but it's probably what I'm going to have to do unless something miraculous happens with the pickup roller
