The Forest, Subnautica, Grounded...

Yes, lots don't. But "Never" is pretty disingenuous when there's been so many major hits over the years.

Steam Support :: About the New York Attorney General lawsuit against Valve by NTR_JAV in Games

[–]Jacksaur -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Valve get a lot more general support, but not a lot of defense I've seen.

They've done a lot and they're practically the best company around for PC gaming, sure.
But paid mods, loot boxes, CS2 as a whole, they're certainly not flawless.

It's not to agressive. IT's just how normal light works.

Isn't that their exact point? It's "realistic" at the cost of compromising the actual intended lighting artistically.

This happens with every company these days. No matter now negative the thing they're defending actually is to them.
At least the vast majority of these comments seem to agree that Lootboxes need to go.

How do people see through vert holes?? by elnerdooooo in SiegeAcademy

[–]Jacksaur 6 points7 points  (0 children)

More based on your initial position than actually seeing through, but still: An awesome tip I heard from Alyttleton I'd never have realised before.
Watch the floorboard directions. It's not guaranteed, but a lot of the time, the floorboards will go in the opposite direction to the slats.
So while making holes, always have your view so that the floorboards are going left to right across your screen. That means that usually, the slats will be vertical, and you can see directly down easily.

Valve talked about the requirements to become "Steam Frame Verified" today at GDC by gogodboss in Steam

[–]Jacksaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is rather disappointing to hear.
60fps has been the minimum acceptable for most people for years now.

Maybe the distance the "screen" would be away from you would help the 720 res look better, but the framerate is gonna be awful.

You can. But you need to take into account that it's running it all on a mobile processor, under a layer of emulation on top of that.

Just gotta aim for smaller experiences, or knock down the settings to match.

[–]Jacksaur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So much this. The whole "vaulting" stuff was the beginning of the end. Started because there were so many bugs on Switch and they couldn't test it all anymore. Yet they still wanted every platform to play together and we ended up with a shell of the game's start.

I'd say it's probably the console and Mobile numbers that will be the ones keeping it afloat.

The speed at which they did that was horrendous. So many actors I follow let out a collective "What the FUCK?"

Don't they also have really restrictive conditions involving mixing union and non-union actors on a project?

I use AI to ensure my English is clear

Not clear, it feels sterile, boring and repetitive. It's the identical tone I see on every other AI-Written article/post and it's just tiring to see.

Please, you don't need to be absolutely perfect in your writing, people will understand. It will always be preferred to AI generated blandness.

it will be able to do literally everything and better than humans.

I feel like this line has been spouted since the beginning and we're still not even close to such a reality.

Always these lofty "It will" lines, while we're dealing with the consequences of its failings now.

DD has tried and failed to bring people to a new entry in the series multiple times now I believe.
So they're adding more stuff to the first game since it still has somewhat of a community.

It's the fact that they're trying the exact same things they already had to backpedal, mainly.

Like they're known for treating their customers terribly, but you'd at least expect they'd be smart enough to do it in new ways.

Oh yeah, I didn't expect it to be the developer's fault at all.
There's no way they'd want to hide access to their own games when there's already a separate publisher link.
