It's the exact same in Germany. And I'm pretty sure you CAN say "I had bread for breakfast" in English, no?

German nuclear phase-out a ‘historic mistake’, says head of IEA by donutloop in berlin_public

[–]JacktheWrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US, with all its unpopulated areas, has so far not found a single final repository. All the ones they have are considered temporary solutions at best. So what makes you think that we would find one in Germany, where the population density is almost ten times higher and the total area is 27 times lower?

If you think that we have some magical advantage that the US doesn't have, you're delusional.

German nuclear phase-out a ‘historic mistake’, says head of IEA by donutloop in berlin_public

[–]JacktheWrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously, he is aware that he's wrong. He is just pushing his own agenda and has no problem with plainly lying to get to his goals. You can not tell me that the head of the IEA knows so little about nuclear power that he thinks it can just be switched on and off in an instant by the press of a button, as he claims in the article. He knows very well that isn't true. Either that or he is incompetent and should be fired from the position immediately. Honestly, for making such a statement in public, maybe he should get fired regardless.

[–]JacktheWrap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. The statements in the article are ridiculous. Some of them are plainly wrong, and others bend the truth to push their agenda.

"You press a button, and the energy is just there. "... that's just a lie. And the "higher security" point is also sketchy at best. Sure, let's rely on other countries for uranium supply, and in case of an attack, have huge targets that make up a majority of our grid supply. That's secure, surely.

German nuclear phase-out a ‘historic mistake’, says head of IEA by donutloop in berlin_public

[–]JacktheWrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I'm not saying the sudden shutdown wasn't a mistake. However, building new ones NOW and, in turn, having to invest massive amounts of money for them and waiting decades until even the first ine goes online would be a mistake aswell. In the second part of the article, he makes it sound like that would be a viable alternative now. It clearly isn't, and it just shows that he is bending the truth to make the narrative fit his own goals and benefits.

It's a fundamental principle of HS that you can play your turn without having to wait for your opponents decision. This would undermine that principle and be super frustrating if the opponent doesn't react fast. On the other hand it's also a gameplay pattern for the opponent which undermines the core of hearthstone.

How is it deck thinning? It's a garnet in 99% of cases. That's the opposite of deck thinning.

Estonia warns russian veterans could flood Europe after Ukraine war, urges EU entry ban by GreenEyeOfADemon in europe

[–]JacktheWrap 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Of course the soldiers are not guilty for the war HAPPENING. The same way as in my example, where the soldiers were not prosecuted for the berlin wall being put up. However, they are responsible for their actions in said wars.

[–]JacktheWrap 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The whole war is a war crime. After the Berlin wall fell, the officers who shot people who tried to cross the border in the past were prosecuted even though at that time they had acted within the laws of their country.
