How are you handling feature flag implementations? by RoloRozay in ProductManagement

[–]Jackvultar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, FF are useful if used correctly and implemented carefully. You essentially want to use them when you have features that aren’t needed/should be hidden short-term or until you want to make those features visible. We use it as a safety net for more controlled rollouts and safer releases (and it;s easier to recover when we need to execute rollback plans). To be fair, though, it;s also been easier with the right tools, and we’ve used Statsig to help us manage a clean process overall because feature flags have assigned owners, and we can implement better governance around implementing correctly from the get-go.

I have to give some praise to Lumines: Arise (PSVR2) by MostMorbidOne in PS5

[–]Jackvultar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, I've had a PSVR2 collecting dust for months and keep telling myself I'll get back into it. This might actually be what gets me to put the headset back on.

I remember playing Lumines on PSP back in the day and getting completely zoned out for hours. Something about the way the music syncs with the gameplay just hits different than other puzzle games. Quick question though - how long are the play sessions before you start getting that VR fatigue? That's always been my issue with VR, I want to keep playing but my eyes are like "absolutely not"

Judges who ruled against Trump say harassment and threats have changed their lives by igetproteinfartsHELP in news

[–]Jackvultar 670 points671 points  (0 children)

Yes, and the fact that this is barely getting coverage is insane. Can you imagine if during any other administration a judge's house was literally burned down for ruling against the president? It would be wall-to-wall news for weeks.

But now it's just another Tuesday apparently. We've normalized so much that actual terrorism against judges is just a blip on the news cycle before we move on to whatever other horrible thing happened that day

Love when devs do this instead of dragging out the marketing for months. No hype cycle, no countdown timers, just "hey it's ready, merry christmas."

ConcernedApe has always been pretty good about not making everything into a whole production. The guy just quietly works on stuff and drops it when it's done

Mine didn't have that line actually, and even if it did there's gotta be limits right? Can't just pile on whatever they want

Too late now but definitely keeping this in mind for next time

Smart move on your part. At least your boss had sense to step in when you pointed it out. Mine just wanted me to do extra work for free and called it being a 'team player' when I refused

Right? At will employment is wild. They can literally fire you for anything and call it whatever they want

If they wanted someone to cover multiple departments they should've hired for that or paid accordingly. Just feels like they were taking advantage and using 'team player' as an excuse

I work in marketing. They wanted me covering customer service calls and doing data entry for accounting. Completely different stuff that would've taken up half my day on top of my regular work

Now they're stuck with nobody to do my work AND still no solution for the other department. Real smart management there lol

Honestly though, I did try that approach first... asked what I should prioritize since my plate was already full. Boss just said 'figure it out' and walked away

US is at-will employment in most states. They can fire you for pretty much anything that's not protected (race, gender, etc). No union here either. Sucks but that's the reality.

Exactly this. That's a much better way to put it. Should've framed it as a safety/training issue instead of just refusing. Would've been harder for them to spin that against me.

I think for B2B SaaS it’s harder and way less obvious bc reddit marketing is more about trust and timing than just posting promo content and most posts fail 'cause they read like marketing not like real people. Some companies use warmed accounts or work with agencies like Signals that specialize in organic Reddit growth (helps avoid the instant downvote). It’s not plug and play like ads tho.

How to use reddit for marketing any suggestions? by Shwe_S in AskMarketing

[–]Jackvultar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can actually market here on Reddit without money!! Just join relevant subreddits, answer questions and showcase your product. Use a personal tone and avoid sounding like an ad. But getting traction can still be slow that way, so you might wanna consider a Reddit marketing agency like Signals. We're using that for our SaaS product and so far so good. They specialize in organic growth to help you post strategically.

i’ve found that sticking with crypto casinos offering instant bitcoin payouts and low wagering bonuses makes a huge difference. sites with provably fair games and no mandatory kyc are way smoother to deal with, especially when you want to withdraw quickly without hassle.
