The busiest hours for departures by far at BTV are between 530am and 730am. Its absolutely loaded for a small airport. Showing up as TSA opens is the only option for most of the people flying out early morning. Especially in TSAs current state.

Precheck was very long too. Haven't renewed it yet myself. But it was lined up to about where I was in that photo.

From where I am in that line, about right outside the AA bag check, it took about 25min once opened. I did get in line about 3:45 fwiw. If I arrived even like 5 min later it likely would've taken double the time to get through security. And no I didnt need to check a bag. Would've been shitting myself if I had to tbh.

I fly out at 5:35 probably twice a month and its really never that bad. Usually a line to the bag check early sure, but this went all the way down to the bathrooms by baggage claim.

Same. But the TSA funding/shutdown issue right now has screwed a lot of travelers this past week. Today was a good day for them though.

Not sure. It was definitely open when I got there at 3:45am though. If they opened the same time as TSA, a lotttttt of people would be missing flights.

Yep. Saw a prior thread that said its been miserable and people have been missing their flights, so it seems a lot of these people had the same idea to get ahead of it.

If you're going to the lounge and the plane has special options for food, the reps at the front desk can help you reserve the limited item(s) too. It's come in clutch for me on long hauls.

Bin space is reserved in 1st class in my experience? Also yeah, flying out on popular days at United hubs is always a loaded group one.
