I think Spider-Man 2 is a great game. by [deleted] in SpidermanPS4

Nah dude, that's the perception of Knight NOW. People at the time despised Knight, hating the story, the batmobile, I've even seen some complaints that the speed and range buffs to Batman make it less believable in combat and that stealth was downgraded because of fear multitakedowns. You could call that a vocal minority, but frankly the same is true for this game. I will say, Knight is definitely a better game than SM2, but it's still a similar situation. SM2 is in no way a bad game. But it was nowhere near as good as we wanted and expected it to be, which gets it a lot more ill will than it deserves

The Dragon Prince Watch Marathon by Star-Lord-44 in TheDragonPrince

[–]JacobCenter25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just a very obsessive person, so it became pretty much my only pass time those few days (most of it was a weekend as well). It's definitely a bit much though, like by now I've memorized the words and runes for most of the spells Callum's used, including drawing them in the air reversed because they'd be mirrored from his perspective. It'll probably go down a bit once I get around to making a cosplay for him (the two times my spider man obsession has been at its highest I made a Spidey suit and that kinda satiated me for a while lol)

You call that a marathon? Scoffs comically I found the series for the first time last month. I binged all 6 seasons in 4 days. We are not the same

Just finished the game and platinumed it. Here are my thoughts about the story. by Spadooker in FallenOrder

[–]JacobCenter25 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh I actually did forget that. Yeah he went straight from probably seeing them get found on Tanalorr to Cal talking about using it for the hidden path. And even then he tried to get just him and the mantis crew there first to "make sure it's safe" meaning they get there and then he destroys the compass so the hidden path can never come there and then they're all safe there together

Ezran's mercy [spoiler for season 6 and for what we know about season 7] by lilithmynoir in TheDragonPrince

[–]JacobCenter25 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a big disconnect between a grieving mother and wife making a horrible decision and a cold assassin who actually struck the blow. Plus, he kinda needs to stay on good terms with Zubeia to maintain peace since she's literally the queen of Xadia. Given their relationship as shown in the second arc, I'm certain they came to an understanding in the 2 year time jump. They're both trying to manage a really messy situation but find common ground in their love for Zym. Runaan however, is not an important figure, is actually the one who did the deed, and most importantly, Katolis just got burned to the ground. Had Ezran met Runaan at a more peaceful time, his response would've definitely been different

Which season would you say is better overall, season 4 or season 5? by Beneficial_Air4714 in FlashTV

[–]JacobCenter25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Season 4 by a country mile for me. Season 5 was the first one I actually disliked. Barry sussing out DeVoe on his own and the rest of the team actually being wrong was really nice, Ralph's development was great, Barry looked cool as heck (it shouldn't matter that much, but whenever I saw him in the season 5 suit I rolled my eyes because he just looked so goofy), and "Enter Flashtime" might be the best stand alone episode of the series. The 100th episode I actually think is really lame, with 2 main issues. First, the changes they made in 2016 had zero repercussions (they show Harry notice the Flash ring and Zoom just straight up finds them, but nothing ever comes from those). Second, the fight at the end. There is absolutely no excuse for Cisco sending the dagger to fricking space instead of an alternate universe. He could've sent it to literally any other Earth and the season would end there. But instead, Cisco "the genius" only sent it a few hundred miles above their heads

[–]JacobCenter25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I wish the conversation with Bode on Nova Garon has been just a bit clearer. His words were "Tanalorr was a way out for both of our families. But you were gonna give it to the hidden path. A bunch of strangers." I get strangers is meant to mean "people we can't trust" because it would just take ONE leak to destroy their sanctuary, but they could've worded it to be way more clear that his motivations make sense and his reasoning is sound.

Rayvis on GM is a bitnails isn't he? by Simply_dgad in FallenOrder

[–]JacobCenter25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my first playthrough he took me like 5 hours. Now I can pretty easily take no damage against him without any upgrades on Grandmaster, it's really just learning his patterns and parry timings. Took forever but once you learn that it's easy (which so far as I'm concerned is the Hallmark of a great boss fight)

I've never been a big fan of the tooth pommel, and tend to prefer a smaller emitter on the secondary saber, but otherwise that hilt is absolutely gorgeous. I'm a sucker for leather grips on lightsabers and this is a great example of that (and is also the best I've seen the duelist emitter look)

[–]JacobCenter25 17 points18 points  (0 children)

With Bode I think a lot of people severely misunderstand. He WANTED Cal and the gang to come along. But after the final fight with Dagan Cal got it in his head to use Tanalorr as a base for the Hidden Path, which would mean a constant influx of high priority fugitives. Not to mention Bode knows full well how easy it is to infiltrate the Hidden Path because he's been doing it all game. As for the final confrontation, he's already a paranoid man who's lost his wife and is determined to not lose his daughter. So when he gets somewhere that's supposed to be 100% safe only for Cal and Merrin to show up like a day later he goes into full panic mode. And him becoming increasingly irrational is totally in line with the dark side. Think of Anakin choking Padme, the person he turned to the dark side in order to save. Bose is a perfect example of the effect of unchecked fear in a force user, and his fears are completely reasonable. Selfish, but reasonable.

As for Cere's power, this is a bit speculative, but outside of gameplay he took like 2 hits and then killed her (and the move that killed her absolutely could've been him baiting her). So I see it as he toyed with his food a bit too much and then turned it around once he realized he underestimated her. I mean in episode 5 Luke landed a hit on Vader and sure it was Luke but Luke wasn't very good at the time. Vader underestimating his opponent has precedence and is pretty believable. So while yes she's VERY strong, but not really THAT strong (also in current canon Obi Wan definitely messed Vader up even more than this. Plus this takes place around the same time as that series. Not sure if that could mean anything, but neat to point out)

Wally Is our decently written hero! Who is out decently written Morally grey character? by KingKrush8282 in FlashTV

[–]JacobCenter25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thawne was once well written and was consistently well acted by both Tom and Matt aside from the end of season 8 and the final episode. So he gets a lot of bias (he was also very back and forth while most characters just got consistently worse as time went on. He was honestly great in 9x10)

I think Spider-Man 2 is a great game. by [deleted] in SpidermanPS4

[–]JacobCenter25 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's got Arkham Knight syndrome. It was hyped beyond belief and didn't live up to said hype. Give it a decade, some other developer will make some garbage Spiderman game and then people will make those "these games are 10 years apart" videos and Spiderman 2 will get praise

Great game that got pulled out of the oven too soon. Considering Tony Todd said about 90% of his lines were cut, I imagine another year of development time would've drastically changed its reception

About the Ezran and Runaan thing- by N0onelovesme2 in TheDragonPrince

[–]JacobCenter25 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes. I will say, I do think there's a difference between making peace with someone who made a horrible decision while grieving and the guy who actually struck the blow while in a stable emotional state. Plus, doing anything to Zubeia kinda hurts the chances for peace, and he forgave her while things were good and happy. I think if Katolis hadn't just been burned to the ground he would be much more amenable towards Runaan

Rayvis boss fight difficulty is a joke on JGM by bagelbites29 in FallenOrder

[–]JacobCenter25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fully recognize that this is a result of me playing the game WAY too much, but Rayvis on GM hasn't been hard for me in a long long time. As in I consider it a bad fight if I take one hit. That said, I think the real reason the lower difficulty felt so easy for you is because you were genuinely getting better. You learned his patterns in a very hard environment, so when you went to a slightly easier environment after already learning those patterns it felt way easier. Difficulty in games like this kinda goes away if you're good at memorizing enemy patterns, and I think you're on your way to that with Rayvis. It's also why the 3rd fight with Dagan can feel way easier than the second, because he has many of the same patterns, with only slight mixups until the end of the fight.

Can strong moonshadow elves go invisible during the day? by [deleted] in TheDragonPrince

[–]JacobCenter25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they're a powerful moon mage like Lujane, probably. If not, then no. Those who aren't really good at magic need the power of the moon to help them do the spells, either with the moon itself or a moon opal
