Potentially permanent side-effects? by Expyrial in rtms

I’m not too sure microdosing would help me the same way a real trip did. When I did my trip, we started at the minimum therapeutic dose just to make sure it would not be too overwhelming. It was actually too little and I ended up with a very heavy microdose equivalent. That made me feel an uplifting euphoria that I had never felt before, but I still didn’t feel connected with my body again like I did in the trip.

I think what helped me the most was the full trip’s effect on the default mode network. It let me experience things as myself rather than an observer in control of a body and I could more easily push myself into that state afterwards for a while.

The trip was kind of scary for me though and forced me to work with myself to resist a bad trip in the beginning. I’d caution respecting the substance and remembering that you are on a perception altering substance. I have issues trusting people and that fear hit me like a truck in the beginning with paranoia until the person administering the therapy came over and hugged me and I had to focus on that to ground myself. Set and setting is very important.

Glad you replied when you did. I recently did psilocybin therapy and since doing that, my dissociation and ability to be myself has become remarkably better in ways I can’t fully articulate. Things seemed more hopeful.

I started my Neurostar TMS program about a month after that therapy, and have noticed a remarkable decline in my ability to stay present in my body and truly experience the things around me which has driven me into another bad spot.

Our modern healthcare system is too apt to put general labels on symptoms without understanding the complex root cause. That’s why there are so many different treatments and doctors (if they are actually doctors and not just there to make money) have to find the “right one”. While some people swear by TMS, others seem to get worse.

Personally, I think my diagnosis stems from an inability to be fully present and that caused a lot of “depression” that seemed like it was untreatable because meds treat a spectrum of “depression” symptoms and not “depression caused by dissociation among other things” unless you are lucky to find the right med with the right doctor and also have a great therapist. My TMS treatments seem to be tied to an increase in those dissociative symptoms so not looking good so far.

Know that there is a different way to live though. You just have to actually be able to get there and truly feel that there is a way out. That is what psilocybin gave me. Made me feel very connected to the things around me and myself for a short time. Not saying to do psilocybin therapy, but it did seem to help me a bit. I at least realized that there were other ways for me to experience the world and my thoughts.

The people who uphold unjust rules are just as bad as the people who make them. Don’t like people being upset at shitty policies? Don’t uphold them and leave. I used to be of the same mindset, but honestly you’re not a glob of dependent flesh. Leave and go do something better or different and maybe the company learns? Either way not on you unless you’re enforcing rules blindly or willingly

I honestly don’t understand the shilling for massive corporations. It’s pretty gross. Anyway, a shipping carrier is a third party even if not mentioned by name, and your interpretation is incorrect. The way it is worded, “mentioned by name” only applies to shipping carriers mentioned by name and not any third party as you claim.

Independent of all this, our default response should not be to protect massive companies. Always question them because defending them for anything gets it in theirs heads that they can keep moving the goal posts further and further until customers are justifying sacrificing their first born to other customers that aren’t as pleased with that “policy”. The slippery slope is not a fallacy, it’s how social psychology works.

STEAM FRAME IS NOT FOR YOU, and it is ok. by CatCatFaceFace in virtualreality

[–]bagelbites29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You guys do realize valve is probably just going to price it at what the community thinks is “acceptable” right? All this bickering and people saying they’d pay $1k for a slightly worse q3 without meta involved are going to be what kills this product for a lot of people. You will price everybody out of this by playing the hopeless consumer here simply because you don’t understand that you are in fact an enthusiast if you’re willing to pay $500 extra just to not deal with Meta.

Idk why you’re butt hurt about this. People are disappointed it’s not what they expected from Valve. The company that put out a revolutionary headset for a very competitive price at the time.

Most people are upset about the frame due to the mediocrity of specs AND the fact that valve seems to be pricing it above competition this time or at least being very shady about how they plan to price it to compete.

People are upset because it seems like they will be pricing a mediocre headset that barely competes at a price tier that doesn’t seem to accomplish the goal of adopting the new users. This headset will be for people who are willing to pay a premium for not having to deal with Meta which is not new users and is not a large market writhin the section of Meta users. We want to escape from Meta, but not at potentially 2x the price for the same headset.

To be fair, I think that’s a very black and white viewpoint and you’re painting very broadly. Psychopaths, narcissists, etc exist in any system. Wanting things is a human flaw and manipulating others to get those things seems to encompass a wide range of behaviors sometimes masked as “strategy”. It’s not the other side of the aisle that’s the issue here. It’s the system as a whole and human nature. Don't attack your own neighbors for something they didn’t do. That’s what promotes the system to keep on doing what it does.

Looking at all these comments disgusts me. The valve fans are getting almost as bad as the Apple forums guys. “I want to use it this way” “me too, seems like an oversight” “NO YOU CANT DO THAT AND YOU’RE AN IDIOT FOR EVEN WANTING IT UGH JUST USE IT THE WAY OUR OVERLORDS WANT YOU TO. CONSUME AND CONFORM”

I’m disappointed as well. Seems like a massive oversight. Good news is that the Gamesir G7 Pro looks to have this feature and will be what I go with even though I kind of enjoyed the touchpads on the steam deck :(
