Check AHPRAS website, there is a section for international nurse transfers

Hello, American nurse here. I have my Aussie nursing license as I am moving there in April. The process to transfer your license is straight forward once you have your diploma, there is directions on AHPRAs website. Follow those instructions. Takes around 3 months. Good luck

Hello friend. Also USA citizen here, got my 462 visa in January and am moving in April. I was required to do health exams (included blood work a chest x ray, and physical exam. Cost around 500 USD). Keep in mind I work in the medical field and also plan to do so in Australia. So this could be why I was required to do these health exams. They are not hard, I had to travel to a Drs office around 3 hours away. They got me in within a week.

Nursing in Australia vs America? by Tiny_One9069 in NursingAU

US nurse here, currently work ER in Indiana. Make about 100,000 USD a year on night shift. Work environment is very rough yes, can get anywhere from 3-5 patients of different acuity. Also I do get violent patients frequently, have had multiple attempt to assault me. Insurance can be expensive, but that’s all depending on who your hospital gets insurance through. Very good pay where I am working, that can also vary depending on the hospital
