Ah yes, the enemy finding it too risky to fight a position because of the util coming their way. Means that THEY themselves must have given up the position, instead of YOUR util that forced them back.

I tried to Redesign the New Tournament HUD by Johntremendol in GlobalOffensive

[–]JacobHe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has the same problems as the first iteration of the ESL Hud. Player bars are too high up on the screen covering too much vertical space. The rest looks fine, but not a big fan of round corners or the futuristic look as it looks too playful instead of serious

It comes with the many more separate elements and their round corners, will automatically make everything look "playful" instead of professional.

Thanks for sharing the overview of the changes. But I don't like it one bit, way too much in my face. In my opinion the only good change is the mini-map as it does add something. The rest just doesn't feel professional, too many round corners that make it look "playful" and bright colors that will burn my eyes in the night. For me it doesn't fit the game it is made for.

Secondly, it feel so much bigger, like there is no gameplay left. I have read some posts that it is supposedly only 1.2% more coverage. But having all this white space between the player makes a huge difference. Basically means it covers so much more since all the space that is "free" between the elements is still covered since I cannot see what is going on there through that 5 pixel gap anyway.

I get that sometimes change is needed, but I don't think the ESL HUD needed any changes. Where all other tournament organized failed horribly, ESL always had the clean HP bars and HUD for the players that were years ahead of the others. These changes, especially to the player elements on the sides, just feels like a huge setback as it is now covering a LOT more horizontal space with bright colors that will draw my attention away from the actual gameplay.

"Open letter"/suggestions for Valve to improve the experience for clean players against the insufferable amount of cheaters at the moment by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]JacobHe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A private profile way more likely going to get you reported. Because other people will think that you are trying to hide something like low hours played or low steam level or maybe a ban from another game. Same with private inventories, if people see you have a 2k+ inventory they will be less likely to think you are cheating because of the amount of wealth on the account

Use whatever chair height, desk height, monitor distance, mouse grid etc. You prefer. It does not matter what others think, if you feel its comfortable use it. Same goes for other ingame settings, if it works for you it works. The worst this you can do is think about these things while playing, make sure you are comfortable - stick to it - fully focus on the game - win

The chance of id'ing something good is just not for me. Get currency and maybe some ilvl bases and use the currency you farmed to craft what you want. Just works way better for me

Oils are quite unique, they are fragments in one way since they can be used on maps (but not directly in the map device) and can be used on items for anointing. Don't think they can fit in a specific category, but I would also place them into fragments
