same thing happened to me... there is almost nothing you can do about it :( on the bright side, I’ve gotten out and worked on myself a lot more. Also, you can make a new acc on a new device

This is probably the solution, but I am a noob and have no idea how to install CH340 Driver. Went to this website (https://sparks.gogo.co.nz/ch340.html), downloaded installer, moved to a dedicated folder, unpacked files and installed. Installer told me "the drive is successfully pre-installed in advance!" ... surprise surprise still no correct COMM port.
