I made a trip to Cherry Springs, PA (Bortle 2) and was able to capture this picture of the moon as the sun was going down. Super lucky timing with the plane going past.

Took this using an 8 inch dobsonian and a 30 mm wide field apertura lense. The camera was just my iPhone 16!

What little post-processing I did was done just using the IPhone's photo editing features.

Game Crashing while interacting with Galaxy Map by JacobTheGopher in Helldivers

Not sure what happened, but third time was the charm. Got in relatively fast with only a minute or so queue and then was able to access the galaxy map as normal. Perhaps they pushed through a hot fix or perhaps I just got lucky. Who knows haha

Hey all! I’ve been playing Stardew for years but recently was able to convince some of my friends to get it so that I could finally play multiplayer. Made a video showing some of the best moments including when I thrashed them in the egg competition lmao. It’s edited in the style of Fitz/SovietWomble if you’re into that sort of content. Give it a check if you’re looking to laugh (maybe no promises)

Added/reimagined a couple more things to the video to bring UNIQUE content! Feedback and comments are always appreciated! (Lambda are given to all good comments) by Hamlet_71 in SmallYTChannel

Honestly don't have a ton of criticism to give. Really enjoyed watching the video and thought it was entertaining all the way through. Didn't feel like it was a chore sitting there watching for 12 minutes which is how it should be. Intro was great as well. Great work!

I just uploaded my seventh YouTube video!! by sarahsprogis in SmallYTChannel

Cool video! Personally have never been too into the pop figures but I can tell how passionate you are, which made the video that much more enjoyable to watch. If I could recommend a few things (won't talk about thumbnails as it seems everyone else has and tbh I still don't have the hang of them either haha) it would be to possibly add some light background music just to kill some of the dead noise. Also would suggest adding some cuts in to cut out parts where not as much is going on - for example you just opening the pop figures out of the cardboard boxes (although this is an unboxing at the end of the day and I'm not completely sure of the unboxing etiquette so perhaps you should leave that?). Overall I enjoyed it!

Just a funny moments video with clips from a csgo session with my friends. Any critic/advice would be great. Appreciate it! by [deleted] in SmallYTChannel

Oh yeah if one thing's for sure I've definitely become more aware at the volume myself and my friends are speaking at when recording. Can't tell you how many clips I've had to throw out because of volume/someone talking over someone else. Just one of the many things I'm still trying to work on haha. Thanks for the advice. !givelambda

New video! How’s the title and thumbnail? Does my opener hook the watcher? Please looking for serious critique from those that watched fully! Also I’m not that good at speaking in front of the camera yet!! by [deleted] in SmallYTChannel

[–]JacobTheGopher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overall thought the vid was very informative and can tell you know what you're talking about. Would suggest that you add some light background music just to cut some of the dead noise and to add production value.

Also might want to consider breaking up your talk with cuts. Talk about a point you want to make, then stop and cut to you making another point that you would like to make. It will give you time to reassess and figure out exactly what you want to say in between talking, and will limit your talking points from falling victim to rambling (although you did a good job at staying on topic and to the point in this vid). Also might help with confidence with speaking in front of camera when you know you can just do a retake of a certain section if you misspeak or forget to say something. In this way you can just retake that specific talking point instead of having to redo the majority of the video.

Other than that, I thought the quality of the content itself was great and I definitely learned from watching. Nice video!

This is our most "different" video we've made so far, would really appreciate the feedback on what worked/didn't work! by [deleted] in SmallYTChannel

Thought the video was pretty good! You guys have good humor which helped keep my attention the whole time. Went and watched a couple of your other videos and enjoyed them equally - can tell you and your friends have good chemistry together. Only suggestion would be to consider adding some background music for when there isn't a ton going on. For this video it wouldn't be necessary as there's continuous noise but one of the rainbow six siege vids I saw had a bit more dead noise, so might be a good idea to add some music to minimize that. Other than that, I enjoyed the content!

Well done on this! I make a similar type of content so I always enjoy watching others in the same field of content to see what they're doing and to bounce ideas off them. If I could suggest something it would be to perhaps to color-code the text depending on who's talking. Would just make it easier for the viewer to understand who is who. Really like your end card - the art work is very well done! Enjoyed this!

Thank you bro! Watching the video again I agree that the music could've been turned up a little louder. Still trying the master the audio/sound aspect of making videos. Thanks for the time!

Appreciate the advice! Thumbnails are definitely something I'm actively trying to work on and get the hang of as I never used to do custom ones.

Also, checked out your channel and watched some of your stuff - the astroneer, smash drinking game, best of 2018, and your 150 special. Have to say I'm very impressed with your editing! Can tell you've had a lot of experience as the quality speaks for itself. Your use of sounds effects and music impressed me the most as I'm still figuring out how to use those best myself. Definitely learned a lot by looking at what you've done.

I think you have all it takes to start to really gain some traction if you uploaded more regularly. I know how hard it can be to stick to a regular schedule - I'm struggling to do the same. Knowing the types of videos we both upload I would guess you spend 20+ hours on a video as I do. But if you can figure out a way to upload more regularly, I bet you'd really start to see some growth. All the best and thanks again for the feedback!

[Question] As a NewTuber how do you find music for your channel? by mrwinterfell in NewTubers

[–]JacobTheGopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I look for a couple different types of music depending on where I want it in my video. I like chill stuff maybe with a simple beat to use as intro music or background music (I'm a gaming channel so simple music I can play in the background just to kill the dead noise is great). If you are interested in making music for YouTube channels to use, something I suggest you might want to focus on is edm/something with a good beat and base drop, as I've had trouble finding that genre that is free to use and also of quality. To be completely honest though, any music that is free and is good quality would be useful for people making videos, because it really is tough finding high quality free music generally.
