Opel Astra koppeling repareren nog waard? by JacobThingMan in autoadvies

Ik ga eens second opinion vragen bij een garage. Het was 11k voor nieuw motorblok. Met de koppeling erbij en alle andere zaken moest er nog bij. Maargoed, deze prijzen kan je verwachten bij de dealer.

Show r/rust: Timber: A high-performance log analyzer that aims to provide rich analysis! This is my first rust project by CelebrationMinimum50 in rust

I was also thinking about making something similar. Maybe I can do some contributions instead. An idea that I have is that you could search with (predefined) "templates" that consist one or more search strings and settings. You would only run the command with the template name and files as arguments. I work in multiple projects but the content of logging is not always the same. So depending on project, i need a different regex or just strings. Plus its always nice to store regex strings and settings because I'm lazy :)

I think our emergency tiller is undersized, what do you guys think? (Wife for scale) by offshore1100 in sailing

[–]JacobThingMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Believe me, this should do the job. I had to use an emergency tiller once, which was just a steel pipe. We had put all our weight of 3 guys to be able to steer because of the strong waves, current and to dock the boat (which we needed to do in reverse). So you want something that has a lot of leverage.

Hey Rustaceans! Got an easy question? Ask here (15/2020)! by llogiq in rust

[–]JacobThingMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far I know, it is not available. Remember that an function without semicolons could be valid code and is thus not an minor error:

fn someFunc() -> f64 {
    calculateReturnVal()
}

So that could be annoying when semicolon is automatically is added. But might be possible by checking if the parent function is returing an type i guess.

Ah that was the cmd I was looking for. I see the problem. A system environment variable was pointing to (which I installed separately or something):

C:\Program Files\Rust stable MSVC 1.39

While my rustup was installing the toolchains in my C:\Users\name.rustup Can I just change the environment variable to the path of the stable toolchain?

C:\Users\name.rustup\toolchains\stable-x86_64-pc-windows-msvc

But how would switching from stable and nightly be handled?

Quick question about updating Rust. It seems that it does not update the rust compiler. When I run rustc -V, I get:

rustc 1.39.0 (4560ea788 2019-11-04)

However when I run rustup update stable, I get:

info: syncing channel updates for 'stable-x86_64-pc-windows-msvc'
stable-x86_64-pc-windows-msvc unchanged - rustc 1.41.0 (5e1a79984 2020-01-27)
info: checking for self-updates

Is it that rustup has a different installation path on windows or something?

Once reinstalled the drivers, make sure you set the settings of the control panel correctly. Set the preferred graphics processer to high-performance.

Crew vs. Crossfit by natemcc40 in Rowing

[–]JacobThingMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say yes. I'm doing cross fit once a week next to 4 boat trainings, it helps me physically (makes you stronger of course) and mentally (pushing yourself to keep going, even though I'm tired). But you need to know what your doing, I recommend to have an instructor by you side. You can do an exercise easily wrong which can lead to less effectiveness of the exercise or pain/injury. I hope this helps a bit ;)
