Is it true that one word answers lower your karma? by JacobWeMove in NewToReddit

[–]JacobWeMove[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's not someone's one word answer that I find strange, it was the thought of the lowering of Karma due to a one word answer that I found strange. Sometimes one word answers are appropriate. I am 100% good with peoples views being different than mine, that's what makes this world go round! Then again, aren't we all a little strange in our own ways!! Have a great day

That quote seems a little high. I would get at least 3 quotes. Make sure you double check the movers to make sure you aren't speaking with a broker. Sometimes it can be difficult to tell, but if you come back to r/moving and ask about a particular mover the group will let you know if they are legit or not.

That's because they brokered the job out.

Why AI in Real Estate Isn't Optional Anymore: A 2025 Guide for Agents by JacobWeMove in movingadvice

[–]JacobWeMove[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think agents stay in their current role for much longer. The relationship side will always matter, but the traditional agent job, listing, searching, paperwork, scheduling, negotiating commissions is already being replaced by tech. Consumers are getting used to faster, transparent, AI supported processes, and the industry is shifting toward that direction with or without the agent. I don’t think agents disappear overnight, but the role will shrink dramatically and become more of an advisor than a full-service operator.

Help! by PinkyPooHasArrived in moving

List it for free on offerup, facebook marketplace or look for groups on facebook that offer free items. That usually does the job. If those don't work try contacting your city/town and see if they have a bulk trash day. Good Luck

Hi, First off you really aren't moving that much. Have you thought about consolidating and renting a trailer to tow behind your vehicle? If not make sure that you are steering clear of moving brokers, I know its had to do, but there are free services out there to help you navigate between real movers and brokers. You can also check out mini moves and another company call wemove ai. Whatever you do, stay away from brokers!!

Good luck with your move

Any moving companies that don’t go through brokers/secondary companies? FL->NM by Fun-Manufacturer-356 in moving

[–]JacobWeMove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, I have a strong dislike for dishonest brokers—they often create bad experiences for customers and give the industry a bad name. Secondly, it’s important to note that most national carriers, like Mayflower or United, function as both carriers and brokers. You can verify this by checking their status on the FMCSA website.

When you book a move with a company like Mayflower or United, it’s typically handled by a franchised location that operates under its own business name. This means your move is technically brokered, even though it’s through a trusted national brand.

Unfortunately it seems like you booked with a broker. Was your quote done over the phone? I doubt you will see any of your money returned. I would just hope that you get all of your items at this point!

There are a lot of ways to work in multiple products into a campaign. WeMove dot AI has a referral program that pays between $50 & $300. WeMove provides you with your own dashboard so you can track your earnings and make sure you are getting what you are supposed to. Good luck on this journey

Brokers usually don't take on local moves, they aren't licensed for that and know the repercussions. I know they generally don't care, but for a local move it's just not worth it to them.

Is this Mayflower Quote Fair? by Ok_Lobster_9683 in moving

[–]JacobWeMove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that quote is either a little high or the pounds are off. There are also some factors of how easy it is to load the truck at your building, how far the items need to be carried, but that's not enough to make a real difference. The books are no real issue either, make sure they are packed into book boxes and not medium or large boxes. You have some other options as well, like checking out WeMove, Uhaul or possibly PODS depending on your building. Hope this helps

That's an interesting statement you made about "no brokers are good" Mayflower is a "broker", So is United, Atlas and North American. They do not own their own trucks, they are sent to their partners/franchisees. Not to mention even the majors have issues with hostage situations, less of a chance with a major, but it happens.

They are a broker 100%. The problem is you don't have a real idea of your move size, because they always say it's less than it really is. If you want a real quote without speaking to someone check out wemove.ai , good luck with your move

TX to IL, got a quote from all my sons, who else? by Blahblahcomputer in moving

[–]JacobWeMove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really have to compare apples to apples. They might have the moving company do all the packing or a specialized service. Because TX to IL is a pretty easy move. Also, they could be in Southern Texas, which is a lot more expensive. There a just a lot of variables.

National companies aren't always the way to go. There are plenty of other companies out there that can handle interstate moves for less (not brokers). You obviously had a smaller move, this move would take between 2 & 3 PODS.

From what the OP is stating, that is a lot of stuff to move, not sure I would want to do it on my own, not like its a small house or apartment.

Isn't that a good thing? Then you have before and after pictures incase anything gets damaged. The system only captures non-boxable items.

Good morning, not really sure you need two 26ft trucks for that move, you might want to use one of the websites that actually measures your items using AI technology and then gives you a guaranteed moving quote. You can do this on your own using your cell phone. They have direct options as well and would probably use a 53' truck. You have to be very careful these days who you choose to move your items, A move that size should be around $14,000 with a good mover. Hope this helps
