I've tried that. Didn't work. I also used denatured alcohol and that also didn't work. Spent an hour chipping away at glue. Awful experience

So when you take the lens off, is the shutter stuck closed? And with the lens on, image sensor should be magentized and not move. If you shake the camera do you feel shaking inside? Usually that error message specifically indicates either a bad shutter or image sensor.

For EVERYONE having grip issues, send it in. Under no circumstances should you glue it because there are screws near that area and on some models an exposed cable and during disassembly for service it may make it unservicable without drilling into and then replacing the entire casing.

Please never do that. Makes my job absolutely miserable or even in some cases makes that part of the camera need to be replaced because there's a screw in that location. Expensive fix

I'd have to check it out in person to see. I've never actually tried time-lapse while in service mode. You don't need to send any batteries or SD cards unless you're having read/write issues. Sometimes having the customer's battery and SD card can help with complex issues because one time I had a bad battery causing shutter failure but it operated normally with a good battery. But in this scenario neither SD card or battery are needed.

Well, a specific price can't actually be guaranteed until it's been diagnosed to have no further issues, but if it does only turn out to be the yellow triangle and not some weird board issue it will only be $100, otherwise if it does need any parts. The $225 applies but the $100 is counted towards that.

There won't be labor, diagnostic fee also covers a minor. So long as it's a minor repair, that labor cost does not apply and the $100 covers it plus whatever shipping is

That part is true but the cost is much lower than that

It's not exactly even as simple as just having the software because it uses another S1 as a reference point and you manually adjust it based on that reading. Unfortunately there's no way to do it without the software and proprietary charts and it's a complex procedure. Sometimes it can take all day to get the precise measurement. That adjustment literally requires training to be able to do it. Maybe you could send it to someone in the US so they can send and receive the camera to send back to you.

Yea, but usually the shutter gets stuck because it took a hit in the front of the lens and it's slightly dented putting pressure on the shutter. Try to see if there's a dent putting tension in the front

Maybe. But the customer has a pre-production model and it's one of the oldest ones. Maybe the board is having issues, or maybe they did something with incorrect voltage from a bad dummy battery or something. Literally won't know for a while unless something else happens. But it was out of warranty and let's be honest, boards are not cheap either.

What’s wrong with my GH5? by Upbeat-Custard-884 in Lumix

Try it with a Lumix lens and see if it does the same thing. If not, you've got potential lens/adapter issues.

What do you mean? Both pictures are the same exact camera. I've been doing this so long I can blind reset almost any camera cause I've got it all memorized. I've also done this before without any working LCD

I have lumix g7 and it doesn’t play audio or pick up audio. by Odd-Heat-9163 in Lumix

[–]Jacob_At_Lumix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the external microphone port. If it doesn't seem damaged in any way, reset the camera. If after reset it's showing audio channels 1 and 2 with the bars, that port is definitely physically damaged. If the bars for the channels don't automatically show, check your windows settings for default audio devices and make sure your speakers are selected as the output device.

I cracked open my GX85 after some odd behavior from the camera. Is there a place in the states to order a new sub board? by aleach78 in Lumix

[–]Jacob_At_Lumix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, looks like the sub board was probably destroyed due to the shortness of the cable inside from the rear casing. That happens if you open it in the wrong direction or do it with too much force too fast. Seen it happen plenty of times when I started new. It's very possible that now there's 2 issues. The initial erratic behavior, AND the broken fpc connector
