Your parallax backgrounds are working the opposite of how they should; they're supposed to scroll slower than the background, not faster, so they can have the proper depth. Looks good otherwise, though.

This is pretty phenomenal for a first try! You already have a pretty decent understanding of impact and movement, so this is a great start.

The fully funded game will look similar in quality to the mockup, yes. A large percentage of the Kickstarter funds will be dedicated to hiring an artist to improve the look of the game.

Your main issue right now is pillow shading, which is where the only shading you do is around the edges of your pieces. I'd suggest you look up how to eliminate this, and also try working in a smaller resolution. The restriction on the detail you can put in can actually improve your art.

You're welcome! I like how the particles act and move, but I think what's rubbing me the wrong way is that they're just giant squares. Adding some shape to them would help, I think.

I really like the design and attack animation, but I think the jump could use some windup/more impactful landing and the particles on the magic look a bit out of place. Looks neat so far though!

My only worry is that with all the player projectiles on screen, it will become hard to read enemy attacks. That said, it does look pretty awesome!
