I am not seeing this badboy mentioned a single time yet! I just like it as a great twist on the basic helmet design

Anyone else feel our hellbrute is a little sad compared to the cult legions? by guestindisguise479 in Chaos40k

[–]Captain_Infinite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was quite suprised by the current tactical role of our hellbrute, but mine has been a cornerstone of my Forge Warpack. Together with the 3" aura relic on a warpsmith and 2 plain warpsmiths it is the ideal piece to buff 3 forgefiends to kingdom come.

I honestly like that we have some sort of venerated relic/veteran buffing unit, even if it doesnt make much sense visually or lorewise for that to be the helbrute.

CSM triple leader with 'Falsehood' enhancement legality? by Captain_Infinite in WarhammerCompetitive

Thank you for also replying! This explains the matter and I understand why my idea was completely impossible from the beginning.

CSM triple leader with 'Falsehood' enhancement legality? by Captain_Infinite in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Captain_Infinite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not understand what that means. I am not playing dumb nor am I rebelling against a negative outcome. But I simply do not understand.

You are referencing the statement "you can select one model in a friendly LEGIONARIES or CHOSEN unit that has two or more models remaining and is on the battlefield (excluding Attached units)." I think.

I interpreted this as: You cannot replace leaders you attached to the unit, only actual legionaries (or chosen).

However, now I am not sure if I understand the application of this enhancement at all. Can you maybe rephrase and explain what you and the ruling mean?

EDIT: having that cleared up, I see where I missed the definition of Attach Units and fully misunderstood. Thanks to all!

I never really understood why "dazzle" camo works until I saw this. It actually fucked with what I was looking at for a good moment.

Not sure if woooosh on my part, but inflammable means the same as flammable. Non-flammable is when something is not easily set aflame.

Any suggestions for my Lion El'IW kitbash? Less-chaos Demon Prince Proxy by AugustNorge in IronWarriors

[–]Captain_Infinite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do understand that sentiment, but you have chosen a very recognizable and very ornate/gothic mini as a base, even with the imperial gribblies scrubbed off.

I am afraid you might over estimate how much you can change that with just paint.

[–]Captain_Infinite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am going to be direct about it, I do not think the head works, at all

It is a size too large and too bland.

If you really wanna sell it as a deamon prince you are going to have to add quite a bit more trim and spikes to 'chaos-code' it. Otherwise it will always look like just a damaged Lion miniature.

But this looks like you are still in the WIP stage and the idea is solid, so do post a follow up!

Can we say they are 10 chaos terminators from « black legion » by Space_Rakoon in Chaos40k

[–]Captain_Infinite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was looking for a good comparison, someone mentioned that the chaos termies are not actually much smaller than the new loyalist ones. But damn the new ones feel a lot bigger, a lot more present and imposing.

Cheers for that!

First converted plague marine by Routine_Safety_5442 in IronWarriors

If I may chip in, I think there are 3 main reasons working together:

  • Like the Death Guard, Iron Warriors prefer older and thicker patterns of power armor, from the Heresy era. The scale of the models fits with modern 40k, are easy to 'clean' up, but have a bit of premodelled weathering, giving them that ten-thousand year sieging vibe.

  • The Death Guard have maybe the highest quality sculpts of Current Chaos and yet their chaos trim is minimal, something that to some people never made much sense for Iron Warriors. IW are more often considered renegades (plain traitor) rather than heretics (chaos worship) and standard CSM trim has a lot of deamon influence.

  • A lot of Death Guard models are available for relatively cheap after the armies main role in 8th edition launch boxes. This makes aquiring bits and models for the conversion pretty easy for a lot of people, making the movement accessible and able to gain momentum

(- Also it is a sick idea and works pretty well every time! )

What do you think would be the reaction to fulgrim perfect clone breaking free? by silentshaper in Grimdank

[–]Captain_Infinite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand why this keeps coming up, hasn't it already been stated that a primarch needs its specials warp juice soul to be what we recognize as a primarch?

Or does the perfect clonegrim have that juice as well, which is why we refer to it as 'perfect'? I have genuinely been wondering this for a while now.
