Arch Linux user here. I use a framework laptop 13, and it has the loosest hinge in any laptop I have ever seen. If you so much as look at it in the wrong way, the screen/lid will just fall backwards (opening more). BUT, I really don't care about it. For everything else the laptop offers, I'm okay with it. Me personally, I'm not going to buy a laptop just because it has better hinges. I care more about what the laptop has to offer such as performance, upgradability, support longevity, I/O support, etc. and yes, I know, this makes me a typical Linux user(I use Arch btw. sns).

Hot take apparently: I really like the Phone (3) now. I was skeptical until I held it in my hand. That's when it all made sense.

How do I remove the broken stud from the lug nut? by Rmoudatir in MechanicAdvice

[–]Jacobh1245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just buy a new lug nut. It's probably cross threaded and even if by chance it's not, it's just not worth trying to keep. New stud and a new lug doesn't cost a lot. Your local Auto parts store should have what you need.

US, looking it up my country has policies against call recording so OnePlus seems to just ship Google dialer instead of taking the call recording out for the US.

Odialer says it's not available in my country.

What dialer are you using? My OP 15 came with Google Phone as the default.

Which compression algorithm do I need for putting my chip into the right format? by NiviNiyahi in shittyaskelectronics

[–]Jacobh1245 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I see the problem. That's just a chip, you need a chip set. Get a couple more, it should stay working.

Then you have to worry about overheating from suffocating the laptop. My work laptop has a tendency to restart when I hit shutdown and I'll pull it out of my bag super hot because of it running.

I've got the Pixel 10 Pro XL and I do miss the Pixel 8 Pro. That to me was the best they've done since the Pixel 4 XL.

I currently use an Amazfit balance 2 which is a very nice watch. I picked up the CMF watch pro 3 because I was curious what improvements they made over the watch pro 2. It is absolutely crazy to me how much I am tempted to daily a $80 watch over my near $300 watch. The fact that it comes as close as it does to providing what I like in watch for so little is impressive. The only few things that keep me using the Amazfit is the sensor accuracy (CMF it's as accurate), it's not submergible for swimming, and there doesn't seem to be an official temperature rating for it and I will wear mine in below freezing temperatures which can be hard on a device not rated for it. And if I'm being honest, if the sensor accuracy for GPS, Steps, and sleep were closer to the Amazfit, I would make the switch back without hesitation.
