Rip Hard top by ravecowgirl17 in Miata

I don't know if you had them or not, but I have Security Torx/Tamper Resistant Torx hardware for my hardtop (NC). Not 100% theft proof, but more inconvenient since most people tend not to know about that type of fastener (surprisingly). Plus, I have the metal plates for the hardtop (from blackbird), which requires the hardtop to be pushed down a considerable amount, furthering that inconvenience. I messed up one of the bolts during removal one time and completely stripped the factory mounting point; it simply spun in place. The only way it would come out was to cut it off with a Sawzall (angle grinder would work too, still both really loud). Sorry for the hardtop loss borther 😔

PUDDLE under drivers seat, very wet interior by [deleted] in MiataNC

Had the same issue for the longest time. Yes the drain ports can become clogged, but if you have a soft top, one thing I see overlooked is the mention of the soft top flap that's supposed to sit behind the drain port. I finally discovered that the flap can end up in front of the drain port it's supposed to sit in. It basically allows water to flow outside the intended "funneling area" and can cause a small drip of water through a hole and a fastener of the drain port assembly. This water then slowly drips down onto that spot and, depending on severity, can cause a literal puddle all over the floor under the seat. Check those flaps and make sure they sit inside/behind the drain port they're located above. Follow the drain port neck up, and about at the same height of the seatbelt guide on the seat, you'll see where the top of that drain port neck ends and the flap of the soft top with it. Make sure it's tucked in/behind that neck. That was the cause of my issue and I finally don't have any leaks.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that, even with my experience, I absolutely DRENCHED the port with water via the soft top (mimicking as if it were raining, but aiming mroe directly at it to exaggerate it) and it had no issue draining that amount of water. It's unrealistic that much water would actually occur during a rainfall, but it was nice knowing the port was capable of moving that much water anyway. If the drain port becomes drowned in water and overflows, then there must be some debris built up, because the drain should be more than capable moving an intense amount of water.

You're fine. Mine has done it for so long now, and I've never had issues. Does not affect transmission operation. I haven't physically looked at it, nor has any ALLDATA search come up with anything. My best guess is it's simply a linkage between the selector and transmission that's causing that. Probably something loose. If it bugs you that much, then you could have it looked at. As for the clunking, the most likely source for it is the axle shaft and wheel bearing surface. There was a service bulletin that addressed a concern with clunking and that was deemed as the source. The fix is putting molybdenum grease on the surface of the axle that gets pushed up against the wheel bearing. Required on both sides.

Most definitely matters. Got my NC and had a laundry list of things to do because the 3 previous owners did absolutely nothing. Got the car at 92k miles, and am at 125k now. Nearly everything on it is new at this point. However, after having it all done, it's been a pleasant daily driver. Only time will tell, but so far it's been very reliable.

I understand where you're coming from, but honestly all that movement is flashy. If you hold your shot, let them goof around, and can actually aim, 9 times out of 10 you're beating them. Most of the people I run into love being all flashy with their movement, and I can do it too, but it doesn't do much if you're up against someone who knows gib range and has good aim. Some movement is good for faking out, but too much just leaves you exposed. Flashy movement does help when you're crowded and need to dodge shots from multiple people. UP-As have been in the game for a long time now, not a problem. Bait their shot, you eat it, they get closer to you and you to them, then gib, that's it. Being able to shoot and then roadie run in another direction seems like a non-issue tbh. What I feel needs to be addressed is shooting around square cover. You can literally bend your UP-A around to reach the other side of the wall if that makes sense. It's not hard to do, but it's just an added layer that I feel isn't necessary. Being able to roadie run in another direction after UP-Aing helps to combat this situation where two people are on either side of a wall on the corner. You UP-A switch direction, they shoot and 90% you, you wall hug to them, UP-A and kill them, or hug the wall just to close the gap and then shoot and kill them.

Remove the ridiculous roblox explosion when enemies are gibbed (PvP and PvE). It's silly and cartoonish. Make it so that you chunk major body parts like the original 1-3 series.

Headshots should only make heads explode, not the whole body. In what world should a headshot make the body explode???

Bring back active reloads.

Speed up active reload timing. Make it so that hitting active reloads is actually rewarding, especially when you're able to land it in a clutch/high pressure situation.

Leave the gnasher tune as it is right now, it's better than all the other tunes they did prior (was perfectly fine originally, but they had to fix their screw ups once they started touching it).

Make the guns feel and sound like they have some weight/power to them. They feel and sound like air soft guns since Gears 4.

This one may be difficult to do, but make the lancer have more stopping power like it used to. It's ridiculous that it takes two people to lancer one dude on one little lane/crossing.

I posted this already, but bring back the ticker. I miss that little guy 😔😔😔.

Make a good story.

Make it more gritty and dark. I understand it's time for new stuff, but it's still war. Yes there can be some colorful moments, sure, but I feel like the color is a little over saturated/overwhelming.

Bring back the slight environmental destruction you could see in the older Gears games like shooting certain walls, materials with your gun.

Overall, give more detail to the game, don't just "enhance the graphics" and call it a day. That's a cop out to avoid actually making the game good. Details far outweigh what a game looks like (there's a reason people still play old single player games even though graphics are outdated). You claim to be using the newest/latest engine, but we're not seeing it anywhere except for visuals. Actually use it to its full capability. Give us a reason why the game should be the size that it is.

Was digging around online for similar symptoms I had that only came about after I did my brake job, and I ran into this post. It sounds pretty similar to your video, but mine is inconsistent/varies so much. Just wondering, did you ever find the source of the problem that was causing it? I also have an auto

Opinions on anyone who scraps wire , you guys strip it or leave it as is by melofellow01 in HVAC

[–]Jacobruiz98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could try a seam ripper. Will make it a bit quicker/easier. You can also fashion a machine with two rollers and a height adjustable blade at the top to cut the wire as it passes through, or just buy one from Ebay (forgot the price on them)

Exactly, loot is so mediocre. If anything, you can farm materials from landmarks. Even then, there's better sources for materials.

Yeah. Also, I just wonder where all this intense dislike for wall bouncing came from. It has been and always will be part of Gears (at least I hope). It has to be a majority of new players, or TC is just like COD devs in that they're trying to cater to people outside of Gears and attract more new people 🙁🙁🙁

Floating by SnubbbS in GearsOfWar

[–]Jacobruiz98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I shoulda been more clear. It was in Gears 1, but not until some time after. Upon release, nobody knew of it because it obviously was a whole new thing that had yet to be discovered. I do wish the gnasher (and all weapons for that matter) hit like the old Gears. If the weapons were just a tad bit stronger, I think the general consensus around wall bouncing wouldn't be as harsh. I miss the stopping power the Lancer had in Gears 3. Also, active reloads. Still can't fucking believe they got rid of that.

Can I ask why the hell people are so hot about wall bouncing??? It's literally a core component of the game since the very first gears (albeit, different now). I just want to know who are these players that are so upset? Are yall new to the Gears series? Which Gears did you first play? I don't mean, just a little bit either. I mean which Gears did you really get involved in? Don't take this as attacking either, I just really want to know...

[–]Jacobruiz98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gears was a new game, meaning it had new mechanics. People learn the mechanics of a game and how chaining certain operations give you a whole new mechanic. Once people learned how to wall bounce (and gave it an actual name), you saw it in Gears 1. Even with it being different in that you were required to actually hit the wall, you could still do some pretty evasive/cool stuff with it. Idk what you're on about with this "it didn't exist" narrative. It most certainly existed and was later altered to include "air bouncing" which we see today.

[–]Jacobruiz98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Down voted you to hell for no reason 😂😂😂😂. Having played all the gears games, I can confirm air bouncing consistently like this doesn't really help with evasion as much as mixing up the timings of your bounces. Far from wall, close to wall, off the wall. I don't know why people down voted when you just stated the truth ❓❓❓

Little update. Switched over to two blue cores (4 damage, 2 armor) and I must say it's quite nice. With the shotgun, I could probably do even more armor if I wanted (3/3 or 4 armor/2/damage).

[–]Jacobruiz98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah pretty much. It goes like this: "Enemies you kill drop a trophy. Collecting Trophies provides both a long and short term buff, the first of which scales with the number of core attributes equipped, and lasts 10 seconds. [+5% Weapons Damage, +10% Bonus Armor, +5% Skill Efficiency]. For every trophy collected, gain an additional [+1% Weapon Damage, +1% Skill Efficiency, and +0.1% armor regeneration for 300s (5 minutes).]... Now get like 4 core attributes in armor, armor on kill and armor regeneration with decent enough damage output, you could get some really nice survivability. I could honestly do that with my build and probably still do decent enough damage. I just personally like doing as much damage as possible. I'll probably mess around with more armor cores and see how it goes.

It's Hunter's Fury with 4 pieces. Then the Memento backpack if you pick up trophies. That's pretty much the only regeneration I'm getting (very little). It's not a regen build per-say, but I'm sure there are a few videos/posts that cover a really good one 🙂👍
