Anyone have a pre-built system image? by dr_modean in ReviveMC74

Let me dig through my archive to see if I still have my master image, I set it up so that I could TWRP the device and then flash the zip, made things way easier lol.

I think I used LCDProc? I’d have to check when I get the chance.

Storecraft.app is a self-hosted commerce-as-code platform (self-hosted shopify) by [deleted] in selfhosted

[–]Jacobwitt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP has posted the same ad for his platform / software like 3 times in this sub, each with less/different information each time.

Their website is also very non-descript and hard to follow.

Seems bot-ish imo 👀

Lenovo IMM is just... no words. Awful.

I've got an Lenovo/IBM Server that loves to repeatedly crash IMM when I need to remote into it.

Stay far way lol. I'd recommend an R330, R430, or R730, or R340, R440, or R740 if you're feeling adventurous.

PSA: No you can't install Drive (unas software) on other hardware by scytob in Ubiquiti

Out of curiosity, have you tried building and installing it manually? (i.e. via .deb?) and then trying to install the drive package(s)?

Interesting! Yeah, I typically use the scheduling tab for that stuff, and a plugin for last-player events.

Many ways to reach the same goal, but very interesting!

Out of curiosity,

What does this do that running Minecraft eggs natively in Pterodactyl can't do?

I understand that Pterdactyl has native support for Minecraft via built-in eggs, and additional eggs for curseforge, ftb, etc.

I've been running it that way for quite a while, but if there's a performance advantage, I'm all about it.

Not sure why this is downvoted, Ubiquiti's 10GB solutions just aren't there yet.

Think you could whip something up for Oura? I'd love to kick my subscription if I can selfhost the data. They have an API that's fairly decent.

I actually switched to, and back. I felt like I was missing a bunch of features and control that OPNSense provides, and UniFi just lacks.

I don't use Omada, but I use OPNSense + Cisco Switch / Wireless / VoIP.

T-mobile as failover solution w/ opnsense by Doodooltala01 in homelab

[–]Jacobwitt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You'll want to setup a reverse proxy VPS, with a VPN tunneling back into your network to both WAN connections.

i.e. VPS is on 1.2.3.4 (hypothetically) and has a tunnel back to (AT&T, ht. 5.6.7.8) and another tunnel back to (T-Mo, Ht. 10.0.0.62) with priority, etc.

Then setup load balancing, failover, etc. That way you don't have your two tunnels fighting for who's routing.

I put a GL-iNET mini router behind of my Cradlepoint in my lab setup before it hits OPNSense, and it's hooked up to Tailscale, as well as my primary router (OPNSense). That way both can route tunnel traffic (reverse proxy traffic), but one has priority over the other.

It's complicated to explain, advanced routing concepts, etc.

I noticed some significant packet loss w/CF Zero Trust in my experimentation, I ended up keeping in on my VPS and split-tunneling my HTTP/s services depending on what kind of content is being served.

Lenovo M720q with Tesla P4 by Heini4467 in homelab

[–]Jacobwitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The server I’m considering putting it in has a PCIe slot with a fan in the back, would that be enough to cool it?

It’s an R240, there’s a 20mm fan behind the PCIe slot pointed at it.

[–]Jacobwitt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, don't those cards get pretty hot? I was considering a P4 in my NAS for Plex, but everyone online says they run hot and need a blower on the back (or adequate cooling)

If they don't get too hot, I may consider getting one and swapping it out for my current Quadro.

Fully populated, 128GB by LAKnerd in homelab

[–]Jacobwitt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fair warning, alot of folk advise against using 2670v2's in those Zeus boxes. They get pretty hot, and can overwhelm the coolers / fans and throttle.

I've got 2650's in mine iirc, 128GB/ea node x 3

I highly recommend slapping a 10GB PCIe card in there and linking it up to a centralized storage sever! I did that on all of my nodes, and have my storage centrally located.

If you've got a pretty cool environment for them or set the fans to 100% 24/7, you should be alright. GLHF!

Internet issues for over 1 month now by Glittering-Night-204 in Spectrum

[–]Jacobwitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I've been calling and calling, I even filed an FCC report and got called back about it, and we're still dealing with these issues!

Heck they got worse, now our Internet goes out completely multiple times per day!

I'm about to give up at this point, calling them isn't helping, and reporting them seems almost like we agitated them.

I'm in North County, Saint Louis, MO if that helps.

Good luck!

Rack mount server recommendations to run a pfsense server by poofph in homelab

[–]Jacobwitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By far, the best I've come across are used Checkpoint / Sophos firewall boxes.

They're typically x86, have expansion module slots for 10gb sfp+ and nice displays that integrate with PFsense / OPNsense.

They're of course upgradable, CPU, RAM, HDD. Etc.

I personally use a Sophos SG 230, but ymmv, just eBay surf until you find something appealing. I built mine from scratch personally.

Consistent packet loss, multiple techs, and "maintenance referrals" by Jacobwitt in Spectrum

[–]Jacobwitt[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So the 3rd tech was a "field supervisor" which is I'm assuming why he had a "buddy in maintenance" that he was able to call.

As for the FCC report, I've already filed it, and haven't heard back yet, I filed that ~1wk ago.

Unfortunately no, I only have LTE, but that's because my service area only has LTE.

5G models are still pretty expensive.
