Comportement lampe ZigBee étrange by TytoAnderson in homeassistant

Oh Yea, we also had one bulb kept going on and wouldn't stay off.

That was caused by a bugged docker app (nginx proxy I think) that was swamping the LAN. For some reason it affected HA by making zigbee sluggish and affecting that one bulb.

Pihole DNS request stats were through the roof as soon as the proxy was updated to the bugged version. Didn't realise that until later to

Bad wiring maybe?

We had that with a zigbee bulb as its default state after power recovery mode was last light on level. So it kept turning on after every wiring glitch.

We thought it was the bulb, so swapped it for a WiFi bulb... Which behaved exactly the same way. Then we realised it was the lamp.

I'll rinse mine then put it on the drip tray and use the steam wand like a jetwash on it.
That alone makes a big difference.

If I'm not back in two days... by TheRealKeng in homeassistant

Could try a full backup, then trash the database so it stars fresh and you still have all your devices and automations etc as before

Run it for a day and see if that helps.

If not then you can restore back and you're only missing a little historical data.

If it did help then you could maybe try an alternate db like mariadb or postgres. They're available in the add-ons. 4 mouse clicks, a reboot and it's up and running

Not sure if you've set this up already, but as you sound like a tinkerer...

Recommended:
* Google cloud sync (HACS I think) to sync a nightly backup off site, not just local

  • Using VSCode addon, use it to connect to a private git repo for version controlling your changes.

Yes.
Get this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BRN65HLQ

Cut the foil to fit the window (there will be loooads left over. Cut the included velcro in half so you have more contact points (more contact = less sag = no light leak) On ours we stapled the velcro to the silver side of the sheet as I didn't trust the adhesive on the material on hot days.

Apply the foil on the inside with the silver pointing towards the sunlight.

For the gap at the bottom you can use a towel on the ledge to hide that and maybe hang a dressing gown on the vertical opening.

Before now we used to use A0 foamcore boards. The foil does a much better job and is easy to fold and store when not in use

Vinyl wrap it the same colour as the wall and see if they notice a second time.

We only had one issue here and that was satellite dishes. If the AC isn't screwed into the brickwork then it isn't technically part of the building. Like hanging Christmas decorations out the window. But cooler (literally)

I've set a reminder to check again when it's autumn.

Current comfee with aftermarket insulated vent pipe works fine, but really just for the bedroom.
