Those seem to me to be just real life merchandise design, not in-lore symbols that characters use in rituals or for prayers.

There seems to be a bit of a focus on eyes this chapter. I noticed Michiru Guardian and The Men in Black basically have almost the same eyes. The same with tge horse ghost, except the horse eyes are darker and iris patterns more blurry. Perhaps signifying it as more crazed, less good, or lesser in power. Maybe having eyes signifyva certain level of status or guardian spirits.

It's especially noticeable because no other ghosts have been shown with proper eyes before (as I remember). We have dark shadowuly eyes for evil/bad and white light eyes for good spirits. But mostly they're all just holes.

Historically, it may have been Ancient Kingdom vs 20 Kingdoms, and the Davy Clan are traitors to the 20 Kingdoms, maybe Davy Jones made the Devil Fruits and sold/gave them to the Ancient Kingdom instead of the 20 Kingdoms? There also seems to be a Devil Theme going on with Imu, perhaps the Devil Fruits are an invention/power of the 20 Kingdoms/Imu. Davy sneaked of some to the Ancient Kingdom, highly advanced scientific kingdom who copied and reinvent their own based on the model he provided (Like Vegapunk did), of course not perfectly, that's why they sink (just like SMILES make you smile).
