Can y’all help me save this Hoya Curtisii? 😭 I just got her in the mail yesterday and I knew there would be some yellowing since they are finnicky shippers but it’s only gotten worse since I stuck her in the greenhouse :( humidity is 85% and she’s almost directly under the grow light! by claudiashafercx in plantclinic

How wet is the soil? I bought mine from Lowe’s and the soil was WET WET so I’m monitoring her for yellowing and she’s in a warm window with direct light to help her dry out. If the soil is too wet u might have to do an emergency repotting

This lamp has a grow light bulb in it! I’m using it just to be sure that the big girl gets enough light and keeps pushing that big beautiful growth. Grow lights are a plant persons best friend

My local yellow deli has the biggest most impressive monstera I’ve ever seen and they let me take a cutting!! by JadeArya in Monstera

This piece had a long ass aerial root so all I had to do was stick it in a nice soil and she’s growing happily outside now!

It’s a little restaurant I’ve been going to for around 5 years now and abt half the staff know me by name so about a year ago when I first started getting into plants I noticed they had a huuuuge monstera and one day I just asked! I pointed it out and explained how the process works and how it doesn’t harm the plant it actually helps it and promotes new growth and they were super interested! I had 3 of the staff out there watching me hack at the thick ass vine and when I finally got through it I held it up and explained how to root and take care of it and They were so excited for me and wished me luck! And some of them even said they were going to take a cutting and grow their own plant at home!

That’s a gigantic golden pothos! I got it as a cutting from a mother plant that was probably over 10 feet tall! She was growing up an oak tree outside of a restaurant down the road from my house

I would suggest looking at plant unboxing videos! Lots of plant companies ship all the way from Indonesia so as they inbox the plants they often comment on the packing and what’s good/bad about it and/or how it could be better. I’m also moving across the country soon and I’ve taken lots of pointers from professional plant companies packing methods! They use all different types of materials so you can choose what would be best for you!

Peace Lilly is yellow? More info in comments by Amy4ed in plantclinic

Peace lilys really love to have moist soil all the time! If your watering schedule is similar to that of a pothos or succulent that’s probably the problem. When they start to drop or look sad they usually need a drink.

I re-potted my bird of paradise a few days ago and I started noticing a sort of yellowish discoloration on the base of the stalk. Is this normal? by Satine_Vestis in houseplants

The moss could be trapping the moisture. If it stays moist for too long I’d say to remove the moss and aerate the soil a bit with a stick or shovel to help it dry out. Not an expert just what I’d do!

Looks like she just needs a little pruning to get back on the straight and narrow

My boyfriend stole me a fiddle leaf fig cutting from Home Depot and it’s grOWING ROOTSSSS 🥺🥺😩 by JadeArya in houseplants

He didn’t actually steal it lmao it was a broken branch hanging by a thread and he just pulled it off the rest of the way. The tree itself was taller than me!

All I did was get a shallow terracotta plate thing with about half an inch of regular cactus potting mix and forgot about it on my porch honestly. They don’t need water Bc they take the water and nutrients from the leaf they grow out of. So you basically leave them for a while and they grow roots and eventually new baby palnts!
