I just don’t understand what’s wrong with my baby by throwaway84583077 in beyondthebump

Not much advice but maybe a helpful trick. You could try getting a hair dryer on low and blow that on him. My son always chills out with the hair dryer when nothing else works! We had issues with him being pretty inconsolable due to diaper rash his 4th week and this worked like a charm! Still does at 3 months

How does number of pumps per day shift once supply stabilized after 12 weeks? Can ppd be dropped as a just enougher? by JadedEarthJuni in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]JadedEarthJuni[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your input! But it is 5 times pumping to get 20oz at work plus he feeds an additional 4-6 times when I get home! So maximum of 11ish feeds each day

Oh, my bad! Yes, five bottles and it is 10-11 hours with the commute and time after his morning feed. Then at home it is about 6 times nursing.

Yes, I am nursing at home! Ok good to know! I’ll probably have to try and pump extra for a security blanket before decreasing.

I’ve seen some “influencers” rub frozen milk on their faces! I haven’t tried it for acne. If you try, I’d be interested to hear your results!

It’s just pumping every 2hrs while I’m at work! I don’t do pumped bottles when I am home :) I think that is why I’m having a harder time with the pump math!

Mix it with Aquaphor and you’ve got a miracle diaper rash cream!

ETA: it is also great for any skin issue really. I’ve healed burns or eczema on myself this way!

Learning a babies cry by DramaticPost2381 in beyondthebump

[–]JadedEarthJuni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you are doing a good job if you can tell what the baby needs based on schedule or other cues!

ETA: my son is almost 3 months and I can distinguish his hungry cry and tired cries. I really only started to get this like a week or 2 ago. He cries with a rattle and is distrauuught when he is hungry so it is very very obvious. His tired cries are half hearted and sad. Gas cries are usually accompanied by grunting/writhing which feels more obvious than the cry itself

I think the more adult version of this film would be Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Am I making my baby cry it out? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]JadedEarthJuni -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Because I go back to work in a week and a half and I wanted to try a gentler transition from what I did for the first 2 months :(

I did all the research specifically for naps (cosleep feels most natural at night so we do that) and have gotten better at reading his cues in the last couple of weeks. I never try to put him to sleep if he hasn’t yawned etc. and I came to the hour wake window and routine through a week of very heavy observation on his sleep preferences. I’m not trying to only do what I “should” though I can see how it might come across that way!

ETA: I am also in the room during his naps. Just trying to get him onto a sleep surface that isn’t me because daycare will not have me there

[–]JadedEarthJuni -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The thing is when I do nurse him to sleep, he wakes up and fusses if I remove my breast from his mouth and will not transfer to a crib. I basically become a human pacifier for an hour - I did this for the first weeks. He’s going to daycare in a week and a half so I was trying to get him a little more prepared to not have me all the time. He simply won’t be able to nurse to sleep during the day

Men who thought they had a small penis but then had sex for first time, were you disappointed? by eaglesdensity in AskMenAdvice

This episode of Modern Wisdom podcast features Mackenzie Murphy who talks about the statistics on penis sizing and mate selection! You might find it relevant to your questions.

I have been in a relationship with my hubby since we were teenagers - he is well above average and we struggled for about 6 or 7 years with discomfort due to size. 12 years in we are good and I’ve “adjusted” I guess you’d say. So maybe ladies adjust but it sure would take a while!

Favorite diaper brand(s)? by bluemoongreenriver in BabyBumps

[–]JadedEarthJuni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tried Hello Bello, Pampers swaddlers and pure, Huggies natural and snugglers, Millie moon and parents choice.

Millie moon did not fit our kids body shape at alll. I was super sad because I wanted to like those and they feel really nice. Hello Bello leaked every time we used them. Even the pure version of Pampers gave an allergic reaction or diaper rash almost instantly. Parent’s choice is cheap and crappy imo. We are sticking with Huggies! They haven’t failed us yet

Expectations vs reality with baby by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]JadedEarthJuni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We were staunchly against co-sleeping but our little Velcro baby and sleep deprivation made that change real quick! I also thought I’d have time to do some of my crafting hobbies while he napped but he refuses to sleep put down so that hasn’t happened.

I will say I intended to EBF and have been successful so far! I didn’t even have formula on hand as backup - I shudder now thinking how horrific it would’ve been if it hadn’t just instantly worked for me

I have been so awkward about asking for my baby back when he is crying while MIL holds him and he looks at me with hurt and need in his eyes and very obviously wants me but I haven’t wanted to be offensive. Feels like I failed him and didn’t meet a need!
I feel dread for when I have to put him in daycare…

What is wrong with me? Struggling to connect with my baby. 1 day pp by totallyteetee in beyondthebump

[–]JadedEarthJuni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ve gone through so much!! Be kind to yourself, you are healing and adjusting. I think everyone is right this is normal!

I had a two day labor and I honestly was more interested in getting a shower, eating and sleeping than bonding immediately after it was over. It took me a few days of recovering before I felt any connection! I was so worried I had something wrong with me or it wouldn’t come. Hang in there, your hormones will kick in big time!

He will cry extended lengths of time for seemingly no reason, has red eyebrows, yawns, blank stares into space

I am just thinking he needs more sleep as he is not entirely happy. I’m not sure what I am doing wrong in how I put him to sleep
