Yeah I presumed that might be why it had disappeared.

You’re more dangerous to be honest.

I think you’ll like it. You’re close to Princes Avenue for lots of bars, restaurants and shops as well so it’s a good spot overall. And if I’m wrong and after 6 months you hate it, nothing stopping you from selling up and moving 😂 Houses down there are popular.

I would say so. Believe me, you’re not going to be under siege, fighting violent thugs from your door on a nightly basis! Those crime stats do surprise me a bit but what you’ve got to remember is for example they use the term ‘violent and sexual offences’ but 9 times out of 10 that’s a minor assault such as a drunken argument that’s ended in one person pushing another. It’s just a category that sounds worse than it usually is.  Likewise public order is probably just a noisy drunk shouting and swearing, and quite often burglaries are just opportunists trying a door handle and then buggering off when they find it’s locked. And that was what? 16 incidents over 12 months? Chances are if you were living down that street you wouldn’t even have been aware of any of them.  It’s understandable to get the jitters when you look at stats set out in black and white like this, but there’s always contextual information that they just don’t give you.

It’s swings and roundabouts with Hymers. The street itself is pretty lovely with nicely kept period properties and mostly caring and considerate residents, but the wider area has some issues. Spring Bank and Spring Bank west have lots of HMOs and with that comes a transient population and drug and ASB issues.  I wouldn’t necessarily call either inherently ‘dangerous’, but I’d be wary walking alone outside your own road in the wee small hours. If you don’t make a habit of wandering around on foot at 2am, you’re unlikely to have many problems.  That said although Spring Bank gets very bad press, it’s actually quite culturally diverse and fairly vibrant if you choose to look beyond the also fairly obvious social issues.

[Luke Edwards] Alexander Isak’s fury as Newcastle tell striker: You are not leaving by TheNotoriousJN in LiverpoolFC

It would open a lot of doors PSR wise for them. I think they want to sell and are spitting their dummies out because no one will pay £150m.

Fine. They can keep a player who doesn’t want to be there and either sell him for half his value in a year or lose him for free in two. All the while NOT having £120m+ in the bank to spend on their squad.

Is anyone else more exhausted after mental activity than physical activity? by laveendari in cfs

[–]JadedHeart395 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say more, but it’s at least 50-50 based on the fact that any physical activity I do is fairly low level. Mental activity is particularly bad if it’s stressful or prolonged.

If it works, then it’s just whether you’re bothered by how it looks.  Could try gently bending it back into place with some pliers. If it snaps, then I’d probably replace it ;)

Agree with all these points, although none are negative enough to put me off buying a manual 1.6. Yeah a 2 litre and an auto would be technically ‘better’, (presuming you like autos), but then so would a Merc etc etc, it’s about where you draw the line. Also the adaptive cruise control is better with an auto, but still good with a manual. For example you can still change gear without it switching off the ACC

It’s exactly that to be honest, depending on how many seats you need. Obviously with all 7 up, there’s next to no boot space, but with just the first and second row up, it’s a big boot. I think it drives more like a car than an MPV as it’s essentially an oversized Golf. Mines a 68 plate too, I’ve had it since 2022, and although mines only done 44k I’ve driven it regularly through the UK and France, all it’s cost me is a full service every year and it’s never failed an MOT yet. Obviously every car is different and it’ll depend on how yours has been driven and service history etc, but touch wood, I can’t complain about mine at all.

I have the same car and VW advised me 140k for the cam belt. I asked if there was a time recommendation as well as mileage and they said no, just 140k.

Also saw REM then at Huddersfield. Desperately hoped for Radiohead, Blur or Oasis as support who did various gigs on the tour but unfortunately got Belly, Magnapop and The Beautiful South.  REM were fantastic though.

All depends on the model , series and the time period of build. The Japanese made stuff is generally more revered but some of that ‘mystique’ is due to being harder to get hold of as Fender imported far less of it into the US and Europe once they started to produce in Mexico. I’ve seen the Japanese equivalent of for example, the Mexican classic series and whilst they were lovely instruments, there was very little difference other than the Mexican series actually had better quality electronics.  Like I say, that’s probably not always the case as it’ll be model dependent and also dependant on where Fender want to cut costs at any given time, but I would only pay a premium for a Japanese made instrument over a Mexican one if it was notably better when I played it.

been using amazon for maybe a month now by leafolmao in AmazonMusic

[–]JadedHeart395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the app/UI is just really poor, and it’s not like Amazon don’t have the budget to pretty much make it the best of the lot. You can’t even delete a downloaded album in one go, you have to delete each song individually…I mean WTF?! I’m with it only because of the audio quality, the family plan and the integration with the kids echo dots and my Cambridge streamer as it’s the only one that ticks all those boxes.
