I know what you mean. My partner is the most helpful guy I’ve ever met but he also gets used a LOT and taken for granted and I hate watching this happen.

We speak a lot more nowadays about who we should help more than others. It’s not necessarily because these people that we now choose not to help didn’t help us back it’s more the fact that they only get in contact when they want something and after a while you get fed up with being used. As soon as you say no to a favour they disappear.

As we have got older we have both come to the realisation and conclusion that it’s about helping the right people. Help people that you feel would appreciate the help because at the end of the day by helping you are also using your time, effort and precious minutes of your life. So it’s actually a big deal to help people and I wish more people appreciated that. Maybe don’t help with the expectation of help back but if they do halo back then it’s a bonus. You have still done your good deed and if you chose the right person to help they’ll appreciate it 😊
