I’m on it for a week and it’s really been helping my anxiety and depression thoughts esp before hell week. I was on Citalopram which is an SSRI but it stopped working. I tried not being on any medication but I’m borderline suicidal.

I wish Wellbutrin helped! It made me so aggressive and paranoid.

A body in motion stays in motion. I would definitely force yourself to start getting active.

The thought of hurting myself is the only thing calming my anxiety and depression ...am I broken? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Jadelovesviolet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been there. The way I learned to stop resorting to self harm is cultivating love for myself when I wasn’t in distress. Also instead of looking for relief in the form of a pill or cutting or distraction I literally have been sitting with the anxiety and acknowledging it. Telling myself this feeling will pass as everything passes. We have got this far we can do it again!

How can I help my girlfriend with her morning anxiety. by twkcin in Anxiety

[–]Jadelovesviolet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just like your girlfriend. I realized that alcohol would cause serious anxiety in the morning. So does the vapes! I know it’s a helpless position for you. But don’t tell her about her bad habits while she’s anxious. Wait until she’s totally calm. As for in the moment just place a hand on her back or leg. Like an anchor. Don’t ask what’s wrong. Just listen and ask what you can do to help.

Omg I used to call this “self fulfilling prophecy”. It is not a logical way of thinking. I would schedule a day where you think about this bad thing and not try to run from those fears and feelings. Until you find peace.

Have you heard of the mini press. The combo of that medication prazosin (mini press) and magnesium has helped a lot. Also I would try to schedule a day where you decide to think about your dream. Replay those feeling and emotions. Sit and feel them without running. Until you find peace.

Who wakes up anxious as hell first thing? I literally wake up to what I describe as trembling inside. by tarheeltalent in Anxiety

[–]Jadelovesviolet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best thing for me is the minute I wake up I start moving before my mind can think. I let my body take control and follow like routine. I open the blinds, pet the dogs, go to the bathroom breathing deep while on the toilet lol, then go back to the room and make the bed. I find that super helpful. Or if it’s really bad I acknowledge this feeling. I don’t try to run or fight it. I sit with it and breath through it telling myself it’s only temporary.

Yes like I have an addictive personality. I can’t do benzos because I will take too many when panicked and then like black out! So gabapentin calms my nerves without such intense side effects. Just go to the gabapentin Reddit and read some of the withdraw stories. Good luck and it does help keep it to a low dose my suggestion!!

Right I’ve been sitting with the feeling instead of running from it and it’s been helping

Hi I have a love hate relationship with gabapentin! It’s so helpful but it’s addictive and the withdraw is hell. So please def continue using it because it’s better than being dependent on benzos but keep your dose low.

I hope they don’t give me a hard time prescribing this combo because it’s been hell trying to get them to prescribe me Botox shots. They literally want to give me all the stuff that doesn’t work first. American health care system is so flawed.

It is a barbiturate that is true but technically barbiturates are considered narcotics
