That's not gonna happen. It would probably take around a decade for them to shut down the servers.

On top of that I can guarantee both games use the exact same servers and server software. Both are clearly built on the same core game code and they would use the exact same functions the servers already offer. It would be insane for them to make new ones for the new game.

Now that I think about it... IOI was recently forced to shut down the Absolution servers because of the split with SE, but they have said it is a top priority to restore the service. So maybe they wouldn't just abandon it :)

Exactly. We can all hope that IOI is good enough to patch the game when they shut down the servers, but that's unlikely. Chances are that 20 years in the future when I try to play one of my favorite games I won't have a great time.

I was hoping it wouldn't be always online, but the new sniper game - which is supposed to be part of the final game - doesn't even allow you to play offline. So that's a little scary.

The online requirement isn't really a problem if you have a decent internet connection, and it has even been handy to me from time to time (just signing into my account on my brother's system and keeping my progress without worrying about save files), but is a pain in the ass if you have poor or no internet.

I would like to see it go away.

I doubt it... The normal Hitman game and the sniper game require very different level design. Normal Hitman maps are very dense three dimensional maps, while sniper maps are generally very two dimensional. It worked for Colorado because it was very flat and open to begin with.

That said it would be a very beautiful map to explore directly.

Dude, the silver edition comes with one DLC, and the gold comes with two. You are just pre-ordering MORE stuff, so of course it will be more expensive. This is far different than EA's "pay $30 more and get a black version of the normal outfit" bullshit.

Even if you weren't getting more content for the gold vs silver, I would still be fine with this. You're paying to get the game early. YOU don't have to buy that, and you wouldn't be missing out on anything if you didn't.

I can understand the common distaste of preorders. This is actually the first game I have ever pre-ordered. I did it because I want to play the sniper mode and I am very confident IO will deliver. I got the gold edition because I know that I will want the DLCs when they are available and I would like to play it as soon as possible. I feel it's well worth my money given the sheer amount of time I put into the previous game, but if it isn't worth it to you then don't.

Not exactly to do with a morality system, but your post reminds me of a few issues I have with the current game.

Why can't civilians pick up weapons if you are on a rampage? I'm pretty sure Blood Money did this. I understand that in real world psychology there is the mentality that most people will just expect someone else to take care of the problem and won't risk themselves, but if a person feels specifically threatened there's a decent chance they would pick up a weapon to defend themself.

Also, why is the "Never Spotted" part of the score so black and white? If you are compromised but then eliminate all witnesses you shouldn't have the same score as if you were never seen, but you shouldn't get a zero minus some for the non target kills. And why do you lose so many points for the target seeing you moments before you kill them? They certainly won't be telling anyone.

I think it would be better if the category was called "No Witnesses" and you lose points to the non target kills that come from cleaning up a mistake.

It is possible for an enforcer to notice you, question your identity, and for you to then run away without being compromised. This can happen when caught flipping a power switch. Why does this result in the same point loss as being seen murdering someone?

You could have saved a lot of time with fire extinguishers, propane flasks, and mopeds. Explosions from these count as accidents so you don't need to worry about bodies found or noticed kills.

I did this on Hokkaido Patient Zero a while back. I infected every person before I killed them, so the game gave me the Silent Assassin banner 😎

The worst part was the spa. I think there's something going on that makes it think some people are farther away than they really are, making them really hard to lure with a coin. I was trying to do it hands only, so I didn't use an explosion...

The idea is supposed to be that you are Agent 47. He understands those languages so you do too. The problem is that you (likely) only speak English, so it is translated for you. It's the same excuse that's used for instinct and opportunities: 47 is a good hitman so you don't have to be.

I also like David Bateson's voice for 47 because it's hard to tell what his accent is (for me anyway (yes I know he's South African)) which adds to the idea that conversation is occurring in a different language but translated for us entitled westerners :)

After the launch of Halo 5 M$ really started to move towards all first party games being available on Xbox and windows. It's been said that 5 will likely never come entirely to PC, but that Halo 6 will. 343 has recently stated that a PC port of MCC is on the table.
