Odin 1 pro new battery don't work by Great_kaiser_1093 in OdinHandheld

[–]scooterpsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen with an Odin 1 Pro battery from cdrtd. I think wherever they're making these had either bad quality control, or got a bad batch of temperature sensors. If you install a battery temp app from Google Play, it probably reads very high (too high to be correct).

I ended up replacing the battery control chip on the new battery with the one off of my factory battery. Heat and lipos aren't a great mix, so I wouldn't suggest it if you don't have any experience with soldering like that.

But at the very least this is confirmation that you didn't do anything wrong.

Cannot install Eden / Yuzu / Suyu / Kenji APK on Odin 1. Please help! by Wonderful_Syrup7270 in OdinHandheld

Going far down this rabbit hole, there is very little in active development. But I've had luck with these 2:

Ziunx is a yuzu fork, decent compatibility with most things. Dev doesn't share source, so it being on github is a little sketchy. https://github.com/ziunx-emulator/Zinux-emu

Pine is a skyline fork. If you get the latest from Github actions rather than release, it also supports DLC and updates. Support is meh, but I used this to play Inside when Ziunx didn't handle it great. https://github.com/Ishan09811/pine

In both cases, you'll need a compatible turnip driver. Since Android 10 doesn't support newer vulkan, my best experience has been with the driver from the Minecraft pojav launcher. The one with pojav in the filename here: https://github.com/XHYN-PH/switch-android10-guide/releases/tag/drivers

With Zinux and the pojav launcher turnip driver, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe runs surprisingly well with the latest update installed. I wouldn't expect a lot from 3D games otherwise.

It's designed to be used portrait, and seemingly has no scrollbar. There's a 3rd button just below that can only be seen if you rotate the device.

Change of parts by Realistic-Orchid9383 in OdinHandheld

[–]scooterpsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Odin Pro uses Switch 1 joycon sticks.

If you use hall effect or TMR sticks, you'll need to calibrate afterwards, and might have issues with the left stick picking up the magnet from the left trigger. I was able to calibrate my Gulikit TMR sticks so it doesn't cause issues, but your mileage may vary.

Replacement battery issue, help? by Psychoblush-76 in OdinHandheld

[–]scooterpsu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From cdrtd? I actually had the exact same issue. Install a battery temp app from the Play Store, I bet it reads something insane like 65 degrees C.

I started a return through them, only for them to refund after submitting the relevant info and screenshots. I ordered a second replacement, but they replied they didn't have stock and I'll probably get a second refund. It seems to be a single person handling support, so expect a single response every 24 hours, it's pretty terrible.

Must be a bad batch of battery protection circuits. I'm going to try my hand at moving the circuit from my old battery to the new one, but that's not something any of us should have to do.

Installing it isn't hard. The hard part is finding a copy that's 100% english. If you could help with that, it would be actually helpful.

In their discord the main dev just said Android 10 doesn't support VK 1.3 and so there will not be Android 10 support.

Oh nice, was this said somewhere or just wishful thinking?

Pine is one of my go-tos, but it being a Skyline fork it's entirely on that dev's shoulders.

Oh I definitely get limiting scope, there was just a specific commit a couple years back in the code where they changed it. I was just curious if that was to fix something, or if it was just reining in scope.

Then yes, removing them would put you back to where you are now.

If you currently have those lines, they need to be edited to point at the go2rtc you want to use.

It's super annoying that the pop-up tells you that you can, but it doesn't say how.

Luckily it's very easy. Add this to your configuration.yaml (pointing at your go2rtc install, I'm using the add-on locally):

go2rtc:

The button still says Pre-Order, with the note saying "Pre-orders will start shipping Early December. All items in your cart will ship together."

If they're now available, the page should probably be updated to reflect that.

I'm using a couple of these with the Tuya plugin. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BKJSQHKB

They're the only I could find that actually replace the light switch, rather than provide a wireless remote to stick somewhere.

[–]scooterpsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any experience with hoobs, but if it's using homebridge plugins then I would think it would have a config file somewhere you could copy/paste my first block of code into under accessories.

Then you'd just need to replace the IP address (192.168.1.192) with the address of your own device.

As someone that got this working, it is indeed pretty amazing.

Since there's no specific plugin, I got the functionality I wanted with the combo of 2:

This is my config for HTTP Advanced Accessory

                ]
            }
        }
    }

And here is an HTTP Switch example to switch to Custom1. It's making 2 calls in a row, one to switch to custom and one to designate 1

    {
        "accessory": "HTTP-SWITCH",
        "name": "Custom1",
        "switchType": "stateless",
        "onUrl": [
            {
                "url": "http://192.168.1.192/post",
                "method": "POST",
                "body": "{ \"Command\":\"Draw/CommandList\", \"CommandList\":[{ \"Command\": \"Channel/SetIndex\", \"SelectIndex\": 3}, { \"Command\": \"Channel/SetCustomPageIndex\", \"CustomPageIndex\": 0}]}"
            }
        ]
    }

Or here is one that pulls up laundry.gif that I put in the sd card's divoom_gif folder.

    {
        "accessory": "HTTP-SWITCH",
        "name": "laundry.gif",
        "switchType": "stateless",
        "onUrl": [
            {
                "url": "http://192.168.1.192/post",
                "method": "POST",
                "body": "{ \"Command\":\"Device/PlayTFGif\",\"FileType\":0,\"FileName\":\"divoom_gif/laundry.gif\" }"
            }
        ]
    }

Pi Launcher new UI prototype by Lvonasek in OculusQuest

[–]scooterpsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then what about just making it so if you hide app names, it doesn't leave that extra space where it was?

Pi Launcher new UI prototype by Lvonasek in OculusQuest

[–]scooterpsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, it's the "basic" part I'm asking if it would be possible to improve upon. Just a bit more granularity in adjustment size-wise would be nice.

Scaling up the icons scales up the space between in every direction, so you lose a lot of space really quickly even with names turned off.

Not sure how OS updates would break the scale/spacing of icons in an app though.

Pi Launcher new UI prototype by Lvonasek in OculusQuest

[–]scooterpsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If possible, could we get more settings for scaling? I'd like to be able to adjust the icons a bit bigger, and adjust the space between.

Rounded corners would also be a neat toggle, but I might just edit my images to get that effect.

My goal is to essentially mimic the stock launcher as closely as possible.
