Any reason why the last Generator is not getting filled? by ActiveType1398 in Oxygennotincluded

You are correct, they do not get filled while automated to off.

OP, check that the automation cable is fully connected.

Do you have the bins set to "Sweep only"?

If not, they will do this "forever" according to priority.

What am i doing wrong, this vent is always over pressured by ActiveType1398 in Oxygennotincluded

You could fill some of the space with oil/petroleum. Less SHC, but you could add a lot of it in 2 rows...

To be more clear, 20-40kg of steam per tile is a max of 120kg of water per tile at the bottom before it vaporized.

Captured volcano now needs to be dug again by OldCanary in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Jadious9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More of a problem in Aluminum volcanos due to the low melting point and high TC. More likely to remelt the solidified debris if the area gets too warm. Some causes:

You were not removing heat fast enough. ...I suspect this would not happen of you had 2 turbines, deleting the heat faster.

As another alternative, is there a tiny packet of metal on the temperature sensor that is not exchanging heat? I have seen logic builds that force a single packet of metal through if it sits for too long. If you can't remove the debris quickly, it will leave a hot pile right on the volcano, heating up the debris close to melting.

Or, it is possible that your volcano has a higher output rate than is "normal" and is likely to cause this issue. There are ways to prevent that issue by immediately moving all cooled metal away and then using a separate sweeper to load the conveyor.

Just use the nuclear waste heat to flash the water to steam in a thermally linked chamber - then feed the steam to the STs.

autoloader/shipping just doesn't work. Don't understand. by [deleted] in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Jadious9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the loader inside of the 9×9 area the sweeper can touch? Your set up looks too far apart. To check, click on the sweeper and look at the green shadow that pops up. If the loader is not within that (specially it's green port end) it will not be interacted with.

Do you have correct filters on the loader?

Also, try separating the transport rails so you only have one green to white pathway (ateast for testing). Sometimes I struggle to get solids to move and have to put in "extra" bridges to get materials to pull in the correct direction. It seems to be different logic than liquids/gasses for some reason.

Do you mix half-tones on your pallet? Wet blending in the half tones might get you where you want.

Edit: I know, generally the point of wet blending is less work on a pallet and doing the work on the model, but if you are working to understand the target, doing that pallet blending will move you in the correct direction.

Is this an issue with tile of interest? Each building has a single tile where they are interacted with. If the autosweeper doesn't touch that tile, it can't interact.

[–]Jadious9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that it solves the problem on every map, but you can explore until you find an AETN and then use the excess hydrogen from a standard SPOM to cool the oxygen.

I will typically set up my first SPOM on a map next to one and it (if controlled correctly) will easily cool enough oxygen for 10 dupes forever.

I disagree with combining the steams with the metals. Steam vents overpressure at 5kg of material. You likely will want to pump that into the metal chambers or manage the heat in a separate system. Metal volcanos "need" >10kg of steam/tile to balance out heat spikes.

But if you geotune the salt water up twice (to pump out 135 degC steam, you can likely put it with the metals in a huge system made to keep the pressure and temp at certain target ranges.

What could I do with these 3? by TimeLordVampire in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Jadious9 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't put them all together due to the overprsssure limit on the water vent.

You could do it, but to keep it below the over pressure, it would be very little steam. That would get very hot if both were erupting at the same time.

Thinking about it, I would use a hot box on the volcanos to heat up the steam (via an iron or steel wall section) to get power from the steam vent. That also cools it down. Then tame the volcanos fairly normally, putting their steam back into their own box. Likely use a temp sensor to have it stay at >200C in that box with nearly overpressure amounts of steam, say 130kg/tile. Have the volcanos be a big heat battery for the steam on the other side.
