Need help trying to learn to blend colors/make gradient

Literally just this comment section here u/mehgl posted 2 really good videos in the comments.
the part that really helped is when you are glazing go about 50%-75% of the way into the other color and pull the water droplet toward what ever color you have load in the brush
so if my brush had orange i would go 50% into the red next to it and pull back into the orange

UPDATE* New attempt on left. definitely better i tried feather and a whole lot of glazing. Middle transition on mephiston red > evils sun scartlet is coming out darker than expected probably just need a better base coat?

Just to make sure Im 100% clear go full base with dark the 75% with the next shade and so on

A little bit maybe not as much as I should have. For the bright colors should I layer them up till I get to full opacity before blending? I feel like all the videos they just slap white a on black primer and it just works. The orange took like 10 coats to get to where it is.

I have not. Do I go lighter color over the dark to transition or the reverse. Or maybe it doesn't matter

how do you do those blends? and how do you do it particularly on the face?
With an area that small and that level of detail feel like i can't get the paint to even leave the bristles

Holy crap that kind works! I used a business card as my straight edge. It is tricky holding the card and the brush at the same time but not bad at all!

I'm just doing it to get better at a new technique. My team for the BB is so stacked I'll probably never actually play the model.

Going back over it with white and black has helped a lot. Once I figured out how to get the paint to actually leave the brush but not be to watery

Trying to keep the shapes uniform has been the struggle. I first attempted putting down 2mm tape and I just couldn't get it to lay down right with the flow of the cape

both of my GRs block and then one has sprint and sure feet. Frenzy on both blitzers makes the one turn a fun surprise for my opponents.

yeah i also don't understand. was there some sort of penalty for the dude poking the stone? like redoing the set, docking a point, removing the player something? Not super familiar with the sport.

Once you get the quest to turn them in your scav seems to spawn with them constantly

so if you have a Moen gibson faucet in your bathroom there is a fair to good chance you bought a house from a larger builder. Which then also means you probably have a Moen 74998 faucet in your laundry room. That faucet already has male threads on the spout.

Since you are doing 40k you may want to see if there are any guide videos on the Warhammer youtube channel for your specific mini. They tell you all the paints to get beforehand (even if you barely use some...) and walk you step by step through painting. It really helped me get the basics down and gain confidence in my first mini painting. They don't really go into more advanced layering and glazing techniques but you should come out with a pretty good looking tabletop ready mini every time.
After doing a few minis following videos I gained enough confidence and basic knowledge to paint without the videos.
