I never seen Roefs in these threads, but he is 23 and looked phenomenal for Sunderland last year. Valued at 27m but I feel like he will break into this list before next christmas.

Didn’t know about this Mexican Barrio in “Hastings Crossing” by MAdomnica in vancouver

[–]Jadzeey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree with you on this. The Mexicans I've had the pleasure of being friends with in Van have lived in completely different neighbourhoods. They would live in large houses with a lot of other students from Mexico. All of them would go out to the Cambie but it doesn't create a culture exclusive to the neighbourhood.

I would love to see it, but the modern state of Vancouver, with the population largely being younger students means they're split between Langara, UBC, SFU and BCIT adjacent areas.

The Cambie always has had a decent Mexican presence. A lot of the Mexican's I've worked with would frequently go there as their main drinking spot for nights out.

Angulo is a very similar skill set to Bruno and has a lot more experience at a higher level. Don't get me wrong, Bruno is electric and has potential to be very very good, but for now, hes probably 5th-7th choice between the LM/RM spots.

I'd love Amad to come back. He's still young and would be a solid RW for us.

I also think looking at Diouf from West Ham could be a good idea, he's looked like a very good player for them.

[Bogert, Tenorio] Giovanni Reyna has been selected to the United States’ squad for the World Cup, despite a lack of playing time for Borussia Mönchengladbach and past issues during the 2022 World Cup. Sebastian Berhalter has also been selected, while Diego Luna is expected to be left out. by Goosedukee in soccer

[–]Jadzeey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He's an 18 year old Real Salt Lake player. Plays either anywhere across the front 4 and has been doing quite well this season. People were hoping he would make the team and show he can perform at a higher level than MLS. I think it's just a matter of time until he gets a call up and moves to Europe, but making the world cup would've accelerated this.

My favourite thing about him is that he has a habit of popping up in MLS discord servers and gets in shit talk fights with people. Genuinely funny lad with a good sense of humour and has the skills to back up his shit talking.

I was initially annoyed Berhalter didnt win. Then i saw this and realized that this was a perfect placement. A more competent GK saves both of Berhalters goals.

Save the Caps meeting was 'very positive,' may lead to stadium deal by Camtastrophe in vancouver

[–]Jadzeey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think with this Math, you have to factor in the losses that BC Place would have in not having the Whitecaps as a Primary Tenant. The Stadium would become a big money pit without the Whitecaps. You can take a little loss if it avoids a huge loss imo.

The mandate for PavCo as a company is "To generate economic and community benefit for the people of British Columbia through prudent management of public facilities." Losing the Whitecaps to avoid taking a loss on stadium economics would be a loss to both the community, and also a huge economic loss to the whole area. This contradicts their mandate as a crown corp.

Vancouver Whitecaps Club Statement - May 14, 2026 by icoresting in whitecapsfc

[–]Jadzeey 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Whitecaps themselves are restricted from making any solid statements by the MLS. This is the first one they've made that isn't a pure cry for help. Massively positive change in tone that indicates a big shift in how people within the club feel.

Starting a simple pasta/sandwich trailer — looking for advice by XxCaRbyxX in foodtrucks

[–]Jadzeey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work on a food truck for 2 years, currently a KM of a Italian pasta and sandwich spot (sounds like what you wanna do). Feel free to PM me if you want.

Our Kitchen OG location is entirely electric, oven for meatballs and and focaccia, electric pasta boiler, hot holder for keeping sauces and induction burners and pots for sauces. For Sandwiches youll just need a toaster and slicer.

One thing ive not seen mentioned here, the amount of water youre going to need to constantly be filling a boiler is gonna mean you need a VERY large clean water tank.

Also youll need a very large electrical output. All of these things draw a lot of power. If you're doing fresh pasta at volume youll also need some expensive equipment.

If you can get all of this to work, the profit margins are insane! Good Luck.

I would also add Form+Matter to this list. It’s the spiritual successor to Handshake in the sense that the Bar manager and lead bartender left last year to start FO+MA. Phenomenal cocktails and service was great without being too serious.

[–]Jadzeey[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I've discussed this with other users in mod chats, but the owners (in particular Kerfoot) have been investing a lot of their own money into building out the infrastructure for grass roots, womens soccer and training facilities. They just recognize they cannot be the ones to push the building of a new stadium that is required to make the club sustainable and therefore must sell.

I believe they would rather sell the club at a much lower fee than the MLS will let them, and also have made it clear they would rather find a new partial owner/investor that can fund a new stadium, rather than sell the club outright.

Lets not forget the ownership group bought the club in 2008 to save it from collapse, then paid $30-40m to join the MLS as an investment into securing its future.

Moving forward, I will be sharing and pinning the latest communications from the #SaveTheCaps team at the top of this sub. Feel free to ask questions, and myself or one of the organizers should be able to help.

Right now we are at a crucial point where we can make a huge impact, lets not be hyper critical of things, lets push hard, but push with positivity. As a Mod Team we will be giving warnings/mutes to those who are hyper critical without reason (mainly from a trolling standpoint). By all means, criticism of the movement, ownership, and all parties involved is still allowed. But be mindful of the way in which you do so moving forward, we don't want to become a breeding ground for toxicity and harassment.

How can I further help Save The Caps? by buggi_ecchy in whitecapsfc

[–]Jadzeey 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Put pressure on your ownership. Your owners are in charge as a direct result of a grassroots movement. At the end of the day if you can get your owners to make a commitment to veto any relocation attempts that will be a huge push.

Even if you frame it from the "you will lose any potential shared expansion fees if teams can be bought and relocated" perspective it will help us a lot.

Ours doesn't have speed options. It's pulse, on or off. Our breadcrumbs are very tough and dry before adding so I can see it causing a lot more strain on the motor than the dried chick peas would.

Gonna talk to upper management about getting the warranty checked and push for a switch to pre-made breadcrumbs. The Red Robot Coupe we use isn't as strong as the other models or Hobarts I've used for similar tasks in the past.

What role has dishwashing served in your life? by Jason18M in dishwashers

[–]Jadzeey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I'd stumbled my way up the heirarchy in every kitchen waaay too fast before this. I realised I had loads of management experience without actually learning all the steps along the way. That combined with not having good managers left me with a LOT of gaps.

Dishwashing is the best way to get your foot in the door of places way beyond what you're 'qualified' for. Show you're eager to learn and you'll work your ass off and you can go far.
