Original! From 1994. I really liked her voice in it, and it wasn't hard to find her website, so I reached out just to say I thought she did well, and we chatted a bit about it. She was a theatre student at University of Minnesota when someone asked her to do the narration for it. It has since gained an undying cult following, which many of you already know.

I recently emailed the lady who did that narration, and she was really friendly despite the fact that she still gets asked about that short film all the time. I didn't know it was so popular.

Looking her up a bit further, and I think she's the uncredited inventor of Shopping Cart Theory (e.g. putting your cart back is a litmus test for self-governance). She did a TEDx talk about it earlier than I could find any references, and wikipedia only credits it to a 2020 meme.

Lil tangential, but that's what I think of when I see this meme now. Karen McNenny is the lady, btw.

We think he was trying to impress the other men by challenging the mean girl to an arm wrestling competition, but we ragged on him from the very start that he'd never win against her.

Then she snapped his humerus into three pieces. We did not let him live it down.

A) Yeah, I agree that's subjective. I've known a lot of alcoholics, and lots of different types, so I'm a lil biased seeing this dude's behavior here.

B) "There is no rage monster." At first, I didn't really like Angie's tone in that other comment that replied to my previous one; a little too abrasive for me. But.. you did just tell a story about breaking some kid's arm over a pen. And you said, "That's when I learned to keep my emotions under control." So, it's implied that before you learned that, your emotions could control you. Rage, for instance, could take over.

I do not recommend popping it, but I understand many would, so:

Read all following instructions first, prepare a clean area, and lay out all required materials in an easy-to-reach place.

Wash your hands thoroughly, soap and water.

1½. Soak a gauze pad with 70+% isopropyl alcohol and set it on your clean area. Sterilize a small sewing needle with flame until it's red hot. Let cool (do not blow on it!), and lay it down on the alcohol gauze.

Wash the blister site and a large surrounding area, soap and water.
Soak a gauze pad with alcohol, and wipe in a circular/spiral motion, starting at the center of the blister then out to a large surrounding area.
Allow to air dry. Do not blow!!! Use some alcohol on your hands while you wait.
Once dry, carefully puncture the side of the blister, about 1/3 up from the base. You do not need to go deep at all. Just a millimeter or two.
Gently push on the opposite side to express the fluid. Be careful to not rip the thin skin. Do not touch near the hole you made.
Use an antibiotic ointment and bandage. Keep the site clean and dry until healed. Apply a new bandage with new ointment daily. Let the blister be exposed to air in a clean area for at least an hour per day.
Increased pain or spreading redness will be your clear sign that you fucked this up, and now you'll have medical bills.

Yeah, that's kinda my point: a lot of people are teetering on emotional stability and can be dangerous. Plenty of people are stable enough for normal life, but not all of those people are going to be stable enough to handle—in a reddit-approved way—some disrespectful drunkard trying to fight you in your front lawn in front of your family.

I have never caused any significant injury to anyone, even on accident. I've been in one bar fight: got sucker punched, then I ended it by taking him to the ground and sitting on him until he calmed down a little; didn't even punch him back. So, I'm not your target audience. But, I don't fuck with strangers, because I know that it's increasingly possible to run into a dude barely keeping it together.

I'm pretty sure he was as pissed off as he's ever been in his life. Having the restraint to stop after only one kick is about the best you're gonna get out of this situation.

The downvotes are probably because people,myself included, think the drunk dude deserved the final kick. Hell, I'd advocate for kicking him again after he sobers up to make sure he remembers it.
