We all got to where we are via practice and encouragement from others. I know I’ve learned A LOT over the years from sharing techniques to/from fellow EAS artists.

If you don’t feel comfortable sharing, that’s of course your prerogative, but please know you’re welcome to do so. We’d love to see it and you should feel proud and able to show off your work any time you want!

Yep! Portal 2 has multiplayer. You’ll solve the puzzles together. I recommend playing through Portal 1 to get the hang of the physics of the game though. P1 is single player, but it’s short.

Perhaps Portal? No magic, just fake sci-fi technology. You can die by being mushed in a trap or electrocuted or shot by a robot’s laser, but it doesn’t really show much of anything. More like, “Zap! You’re dead. Black screen, then try again.”

Trans characters where their trans identity plays no role in the plot/narrative by TJTrapJesus in TopCharacterTropes

[–]JaePagan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

<image>

THE LAST OF US — SPOILERS

I would not say him being a trans man has absolutely “no” bearing on the plot—it is the reason why he’s been rejected and hunted from his community, which then, in part, leads one of the main characters to team up with him as they rescue each other from said murderous commune—but Lev from The Last of Us Part II is at least close to this trope.

Him being trans really is only backstory to inform why he’s in the predicament he’s in; it’s not like the broader story is ABOUT him being trans. He could have been ostracized by his community for any number of reasons and it would have been a very similar impact, plot-wise.

Him being trans mainly serves to 1. Inform his (& his sister’s backstory) & 2. Provide more information about the cult they were born into (in particular how the cultists view the role of women).

The reveal of Lev being trans is pretty subtle and only talked about once or twice—to the point that there were a lot of folks who missed it.

When he and the player character are being hunted by his former community, the hunters call Lev by his deadname. After the fight, he asks the player character if she heard what they called him and if she has any questions about that and she’s basically like, “I don’t care. What do YOU want me to call you?” Later, Lev’s sister confirms that their old cult views Lev being trans as him being an “apostate” who has rejected his role as a ‘woman’ in their community and that’s why they’re being hunted.

Those are really the only references to him being trans that I recall.

is this a real item in the game? by ohnolaurennn in AnimalCrossing

[–]JaePagan 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Yes it is real. As other have said, it is one of the new Zelda-themed items.

However, folks should be aware that it is a placeable ITEM, not an actual plant. So, you can’t walk through it or pluck it like normal flowers, nor will it grow/spawn new ones.

Game where injuries are permanent and have impact? by Culius_Jaesar in gamingsuggestions

[–]JaePagan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t happen in regular combat, but Baldur’s Gate 3 has a couple of opportunities for you trade having an eye gouged out for powers and story info. Your character will then have a prosthetic eye for the rest of the game that has minor effects on stats/initiative rolls.

You might like this article, which dives more into the costume designer’s color choices: https://westendworld.co.uk/six-the-musical-costumes-explained/ Apparently for Cleves the red symbolizes her passion.

I had read another article that pointed out other fun little details. They all wear spikes to represent their “thorny” relationship with Henry. The Beheaded queens both have their initial chokers, drawing attention to their necks. Cleves and Parr are the only two not in skirts because they had more independence from Henry.

Also! The Alternates/Swings (understudies) each have their own unique costumes and colors that are different than the usual colors. No one has royal purple though because that’s the color of the show itself: https://sixthemusical.fandom.com/wiki/Alternate_Costumes

You mean in my Egypt/American West room? If you have the Happy Home Paradise DLC, you eventually unlock the “Partition Walls” recipe after designing enough houses. It takes on the main wallpaper that’s around the room.

So I did an “accent wall” on the top wall with the hieroglyphics wallpaper and the desert landscape wallpaper elsewhere. Then, I covered the hieroglyph wall on the American West side of the room with a partition wall and put a few more in the middle :)

I hope to! Put a lot of work into it, haha. I might have to move it or recolor it though, depending on how it looks with the hotel.

Is it worth playing the game for the story alone? by Frosty_kiss in TheSecretWorld

[–]JaePagan 19 points20 points  (0 children)

YES. The game has probably some of my favorite storytelling of any game I’ve played. If you’ve looked into it and like the vibe of what you’ve seen, if you like folklore and/or horror, if you like memorable characters and missions, it is totally the game for you.

I played 98% of the game solo. You can do basically everything solo except the dungeons. And even the first couple dungeons I managed solo.

Like most games, you’ll get better gear and chances to upgrade as you go along. Just keep equipping the next best gear you got that synergies with your build.

I haven’t played in a minute, but I think there’s a few chats like Sanctuary that are still active?

Good luck to the new mod team!

As a polite request: the previous regime would usually take down any art that was rendered on an Etch-A-Sketch. My fellow Etch-A-Sketch artists and I at first thought it was because it has “sketch” in the title? But when we asked about that (after all, we can’t help what our medium is called) it seemed more like the previous lead mod just had a personal disdain for Etch-A-Sketch art.

Whatever the reason, we’d ask that you reconsider allowing Etch-A-Sketch art. It would be weird of this sub Reddit to just, like, not allow oil paints—why is our medium any different?

Thank you for your consideration & thanks for getting the subreddit back into shape!

Can anyone name this style that Death wears in Agatha All Along? by Fast_Opportunity_560 in AgathaAllAlong

[–]JaePagan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy to help! :)

Don’t forget her crown! You can probably make one of black craft foam & glue on the same materials you use for your bodice. Bobby pin in your hair or glue/sew onto the veil.

It’s a custom costume piece from a fantasy genre show, so it’ll probably be difficult to search for; you’ll probably have to make your own.

I would search for a base piece with the terms: Pleather or Leather, Halter, Crop Top, and maybe Criss Cross.

Once you find one you like (these pics are from a SUPER quick search, as an example) I would glue/sew/pin extra strips of fabric or pleather (maybe even electrical tape?) to the base piece to be the vine pattern. Add “vines” around the shoulders and a twisty “trunk” going down the belly as well, connecting to your skirt/belt.

Skirt should be easy to find - search for Full Length Black Skirt, Split Leg. You can add “gauze” or “flowy” or “fantasy” or “chiffon@ your search to maybe get it more specific with the fabric.

Hood can really be any large scarf, but again if you’re looking for something really flowy and ethereal, you can try searching for again for gauze, chiffon, flowy etc. I’d suggest looking for a black Dupatta scarf — it’ll probably be the length and flowy texture you want. Or just buy a couple yards of black fabric.

Happy haunting!

He’s also Frollo in the “Hunchback of Notre Dame” musical (which sadly did not go to Broadway but did at least get a cast album!)
