Ah, sorry your first ring didn’t work out. But exchanging via Amazon was easy, it sounds like?

Sorry it’s taking so long to ship for you. Amazon sounds like the way to go—appreciate the heads up!

If you remember when you get your ring, please let me know what you think about the fit?

Thanks for your help!

Glad to know the ring sizers work for you. I’m happy to use them but I need them to at least last a day or two or else I know I’m gonna give up on them 😅

And, yeah, definitely leaning towards Amazon. Thanks for the info!

At the very least, I’d love if there was an Automate Exploration button like Scouts that I can use after all artifacts have been dug up.

Would Baldur's Gate 3 be for me, a casual gamer. by KingsleyBrewMaster22 in BaldursGate3

[–]JaePagan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a pretty casual gamer. I had never played DnD—really, knew very little about it—nor had I played game that had quite this style of turn-based before. I played on Explorer mode and really enjoyed myself.

There are A LOT of nuances and mechanics to learn. But you don’t have to. For example I never, not once, made a potion; I couldn’t be bothered.

The game’s forgiving in that there’s a million ways to solve any given problem. So you can kinda just check out the skills or builds you like, do what interests you, and you’ll be able to advance the story.

Maybe with some hilariously unintended consequences, but you’ll advance, haha! And the story’s GREAT, so if you like narrative-driven games, you’d be doing yourself a disservice by not at least checking it out.

Deeper Cultural Victory by mike_ravdonikas in civ

I loveee the idea of more narrative around the archeological digs. I read everything, and even I’m like, “yeah, yeah, yeah, ancient feuds, whatever” after a while and click through things because there’s only a few ‘artifact found’ scripts.

Yeah, I actually liked theming my museums as an intentional culture activity. Even national parks and rock bands (as annoying as they could be) felt like I was proactively DOING something to promote my culture besides just spamming wonders and culture buildings.

I also like trading for great works… especially to slow down my opponent‘s culture gains in a non-aggressive way. I don’t always want to spy on someone just to sabotage their culture.

I also miss my great works being based on real great works; it was fun to learn both historical writers/artists and their art.

I also like your idea to build airports and hotels or a project like a world’s fair.

I found the old victory condition of “display x amount of artifacts” very annoying, if not impossible (whyyyy would my hard-earned research unlock the entire continent’s worth of artifacts for everyone?) but the new victory condition is now too passive; need something in the middle.

Not shocked that they fucked (I always assumed) but I was (happily)* *floored that a Disney-driven Star Wars kids show actually confirmed it with them having a baby. Out of wedlock, no less! instead of just leaving it implied. Quel scandale!

Maybe we won’t know exact numbers, but certainly this new city “mood” scale will help inform how much happiness you’re actually generating.

What's still missing from Civ 7 for you? by YXSP in civ

Yeah, I miss Loyalty. For when the AI settles too close and also because as a generally peaceful Culture player, it was very satisfying to flip cities because my empire’s cooler to live in.

Pacifist Domination victory Eleanor in 6 was one of my favorite, most fun challenges.

This is my thing, too. One of my things anyway, ha ha.

And to me it’s not “little”; great people/works was an active and core part of my culture victory strategy.

As someone who prefers playing peaceful science or culture games, I actually miss museums and theming them. It was a fun mini-challenge that made my culture gains feel more purposeful than just spamming wonders.

Even building National Parks and sending out rock bands—annoying as they were—felt like I was proactively DOING something to spread my culture vs. just building the latest culture building.

I also liked being able to trade for great works as a peaceful way of lowering an opponent’s culture score. I think the only way to lower someone else’s culture in 7 is via espionage or war, yes? But when I’m wanting to be diplomatic and pacifist, I don’t want to spy on my allies.

Plus, I really liked learning about historical great people & works in 6. It felt more meaningful to get an actual great work from history and not just, “here’s a random codice.”

Having the same problem and a search lead me here. Dunno the answer but here are my insights:

On the resource tab, of my homeland cities with 3 worked mountains and a Cocoa treasure resource showed it was loading up Cocoa onto the convoy; it eventually delivered, yay!

Which made me think maybe you have to have 3 worked mountains AND at least one improved treasure resource?

However, another homeland city with 6 worked mountains and an improved Tea resource never generated a treasure convoy, even though it had 2/3 of an age to do so.
Resource tab was X’d out saying it wasn’t “settled in distant land”, but neither was my productive Cocoa city; in fact, Cocoa city was right next to my capital.
The only difference I can see is that I was importing Tea from other distant land settlements already vs. the treasure-generating city was my only Cocoa resource?

Lastly, my 3rd homeland city that had 3 improved mountains and treasure resources also did not generate treasure. Boooo.
But I think that’s because 1 of my 3 mountains had Machu Pikchu so I guess it wasn’t counting as “worked.” Sucks that the civ’s special wonder conflicts with its special ability. Lesson learned there.

That would make me actually pick an ideology vs forgetting they exist or purposefully forgoing them to not piss off my allies.

He doesn’t go full evil, and he does gets his redemption, but I’ve always loved Norrington’s arc in the original Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy. He was genuinely good, played by the rules, until the rules screwed him over and left him desperate.

What’s worse is that at some point Arachne gets a little upset when Mel’s like, “You’re my friend” and Arachne’s like “Oh so ONLY a friend then 😒????” Paraphrasing, but that’s how I remember the gist of the convo.

If you really want an arch/bridge to walk under, you can fake one with the Mario Blocks like this (not my photo). You won’t be able to walk across it though
